They still are! Although not just TN now apparentlyStill cant believe people ran with the TN is a racist program nonsense.
in the post game presser, Barnes was beyond complementary of Martin. He spoke to Martin on both professional and personal levels and Barnes was over the top of what a great person he was and what a clean program he ran. Went to the point of saying if he was an AD, he'd be on the top of his list. They still are! Although not just TN now apparently
Missouri fires Martin; rival coaches critical of move
Well Rick, unfortunately for Cuonzo, those qualities and attributes aren’t what his job performance and pay are based on.in the post game presser, Barnes was beyond complementary of Martin. Mizzou is a tough job now. They’re like Maryland & Nebraska. All of their traditional rivalries are gone cause they changed conferences for the money. They’ll have to find someone very special to get that program back to the Stewart days.
Except Maryland has access to DC talent. And honestly, I'm not sure that any of their ACC rivalries were that big. Duke and Virginia maybe, but still ... Duke's rivalry with UNC was much bigger.
But I don't agree that Mizzou is a tough basketball job. Football, sure, but basketball, they are better situated.

But I don't agree that Mizzou is a tough basketball job. Football, sure, but basketball, they are better situated. Frankly, most P5 jobs are good for the right coach. Unlike football where you have to bring in 20+ good players each year, in basketball, you really only need a few. Even "cellar-dwellers" have been turned around (see Baylor).
That narrative conveniently became available to them because of the improbable run to the Sweet 16 his final year. He was very much (legitimately) on the hot seat as that season went on, and I didn't hear anything about racism. Then he goes to the Sweet 16 (and was a basket away from the Elite 8), was still on the hot seat after that, and so some in the media concluded it was racism.Still cant believe people ran with the TN is a racist program nonsense.
