Behr- made my first donut holes. I baked and not deep fried.
These are chocolate glazed and apple cider.
My question, I don’t like to deep-fry food unless it is French fries or homemade potato chips.
So, I baked these using a mini-muffin tin. They started out looking like mini-muffins and really dry. So, while they were hot, I rolled the muffins into balls to get the round shape. I used glaze for chocolate and dipped the apple cider in butter and rolled in cinnamon-sugar.
They turned out delicious and I think the compressing helped them be more moist.
There has to be a much better way to do this and end up with tasty baked donut holes. Any suggestions, before I hit YouTube?
Hard to tell without know your recipe, directions and what you actually did. If you used flour don't over stir it, that will make them dense and hard (stfu fail). Just stir enough to mix then stop.
Did the recipe call for flour and baking powder?
Did you use yeast of any kind?
Got an air fryer? I don't know much about them but several here do and they love them. Maybe that's an option.
