Yes it is. But it's not all that strange because nobody ever asks for them, and it's a pain in the ass to serve a good one. So I understand it.

Still sucks. The best one in town is at Long John Silvers.

I remember my mom making them and dropping them out of a wooden spoon into the grease. Those were the best.

Funny we remember hushpuppies from way back.

Yep, He is correct. Corn fritters, and most other "fritters" are made with flour. Hushpuppies are made with cornmeal and flour.

Hushpuppies require onion. Obviously you can include other ingredients but onion ain't an option. If it ain't got onion it ain't a hushpuppy. That's my rule so don't waste your time searching to confirm.
 
That's aight, you don't want no damn onions in your hushpuppies and I don't want no damn pistachios in my cannoli.
