Wedding went great, thought I would cry but only misty eyed. I got to the church 30 minutes before (my parents go by their own time), my son was calling me and texting me the whole way there, “are you close?”. When I got there (wearing tennis shoes to be able to run, no judgement, had heels in my purse), I jumped out and asked everyone where he was, hugging my daughter in law and granddaughter on way. They pointed to the bathroom and told me he had been waiting on me. Got to the bathroom...and there he was. He looked scared, nervous, but confident and happy all at the same time. I fixed his tie (they are always crooked) and tightened his pants for him. He kept looking like he needed mom to say something. We’ve got this and it will be fine. That’s when I got emotional. Now I’m getting emotional again.
Pretty soon you’ll be spoiling the grand baby. 😄

You’re such a mom...the best compliment I can think of at the moment. ;)

From the what'd you have for dinner thread

This is the kind'a of meal I'd expect to see prepared on a prison inmate's cooking channel. Really hard to find the daily nutritional requirements in this exceptional meal. Just eat a bag of concrete
I'm not sure joe had ever cared about nutrition

yep - I thought things would be easier after mine grad HS but no - got a grandson now and now I cant bring myself to move South like I always wanted

I gained a granddaughter yesterday, from my daughter (don’t see her any other way) life before for my newly granddaughter has been very rocky. Had a dad that walked out on her and my new daughter in such a way that is cruel (drugs). I’m teaching my granddaughter to hug in a way that she feels safe and I don’t ever let her go.

Sounds like several lives have changed for the better.
I get that you can’t really know someone from the interwebz, but you seem like a genuinely kind and giving person. I’m happy for you and the fam!

I sure hope that my a-hole-ness shines through, I work hard to be consistent!

Thank you, Moody. Now on my next day off, will work on getting that stuff to you and your family.

No worries, I just found out that the Publix, 2 blocks away, has a new Caribbean section! They have patties and several Grace brand sauces, including the scotch-bonnet... I’m heading over in a couple of hours to load up. ;)

I can’t count the times my wife has shared the same sentiment about insurance companies.

My wife breaks out in hives dealing with them. She has to help with her moms insurance, our kids (which is different than ours), and ours.

True story:
I came home one day and her hair looked liked Einstein’s and she threw her favorite plant against the wall. My daughter who came in with me, walked outside and laughed quietly, then came in and helped clean/cook. I took the next day to help with the phone calls and even drove to see someone. My wife had spent weeks and weeks being told different things only for none of it to be true and then have them deny it all. It can take a toll on you/your health for sure.

Go get food.
GET OVER HERE AND COOK FOR ME!
