I think I remember that Lennon, maybe all of them but him especially was atheist. One of those things I don't really know because never really cared.
Ive always tried not to let that kind of stuff influence whether I like someone or not. Don Henley is one of my all time favorite musicians, and he's atheist.

Good morning guys and gals! I was jammin to a couple of my favorite artists on the way to work today and feel truly uplifted. I have had my coffee & oatmeal and absolutely nothing is going to knock me off this musical cloud. @Behr When metal shows are a thing again, I am going to come down there and bust you out of your retirement home and we gonna effin party! Don’t worry, we can listen to the ex dixie chicks on the way to the show. It will be just like back in 1975 when you listened to the Doobie Brothers and blazed left handed ciggies! I know, I have no musical acumen because I don't think the Beatles are the greatest thing since Neosporin and can't stand Marty Robbins but love me some Cruise and Pour some sugar on maaaaay. Lol, after I get finished listening to the Chicks formally known as the Dixie Chicks new album, I'll try to find my giveacrap. :)
