I am happy with where we are. Coach Majors never won a national title, but he put the program in a place to move up. As far as conference titles, there are more teams in the conference than there used to be. Lots of teams will be on the wheel of firing soon. I don't think you can fire yourself into championships in this conference. Look at the number of teams in this conference that think they should win the conference every year. It's unreasonable.

We need an overhaul of our assistants. Particularly DC, DB and WR. The problem is these guys are recruiting behemoths.

We're "settling" for stability and solid seasons and seeing how things play out. Remember, there's only 1 current SEC coach who has won a conference champ. How many current coaches not named Kirby, Day and Dabo have won a single conf champ? Wanting to fire Huepel any time soon barring disaster would be stupid. Maybe these next few recruiting classes turn a corner and mask coaching deficiencies and it becomes their year. I've not given up on Heupel at all, it's just so incredibly hard to be/have an elite coach. I dont think franklin will ever win anything and has peaked but I also think it was likely dumb to fire him right now.

Tennessee has to spend money to get elite DBS, LBS and DEs and overhaul the defensive cosching staff. Heupels offense can be good enough generally from just recruiting. If we have as much NIL money as they say we do. Go pull a Texas Tech or A/M and buy a dang defense
