Who is picking them to win the SEC? Most are picking them to win the SECE, which is the point of this stupid thread.

We want to act like everyone hates us because they are picking UGA to win the east, despite the fact that everyone on earth outside of gainsville and athens pick us to win the east the past to season. Then we want to act like any vols fan that doesnt buy into this fake outrage is not a true vols fan.

No. Outside of a few very optimistic fans, no one was picking us to win the east and go to the CFP in 2015. Everyone said we would in 2016. And we would have, if not for a historical number of injuries to key players.

This sort of misrepresentation of the truth is why some people might think you are not really a Tennessee fan.

So not the least bit concerning to you that in four years we havent built enough depth to beat SECE bottomfeeders, yet now we are expected to believe that that same depth is supposed to step in and be better than last years team? And the fact that i dont believe that means im not a real vols fan?....lol okie dokie.

The vols are a laughing stock dude, if i wasnt a vols fan i would just join in that. In the larger SECE pic and nationwide, the Vols are not viewed as competative, they are viewed as irrelevant.

I'm willing to accept that there are different kinds of fans. I have bled orange my whole life and would never say the sort of negative things about our team that you do. There are enough fans of other teams who are all too happy to do that for us.

As for where we are now vs. four years ago, Butch has brought us back from the ruins. The program had been decimated. We literally had walk-ons starting. We've gone from 5-win seasons to 7 wins to 9 wins. And I believe we would have surely had 11 wins in 2016 without the injuries. All of the classroom and other off-field issues are better now than they were under our previous 3 coaches -- including Fulmer. So call me crazy, but I'm not ready to write-off 2017 seven months before the first kick-off.

But go ahead and ridicule the Vols, if it makes you feel better somehow. Just don't be surprised if a lot of Tennessee fans don't join you.

It's like they're trying to validate their opinions by trying to convince others to join in on the constant mocking of the program. It's sad really.

I dare you to find one post of me ever ridiculing a player, saying CBJ should be fired, ridiculing the team or any other nonsense you speak of. I think you will find that most of my team related post sound much like what you state above, acknowledging what CBJ has done, saying he has done enough to get another year or two etc. The only difference is i dont think CBJ is a good football coach in that:

- he always seems to be on the wrong side of a big game - fact
- he has an awful record against like or better competition - fact
- the teams for numberous reason never seem to be able to play fundatmenlly sound football with consistence - fact
- there is a problem with developing talented depth - fact
- there have been several issues with managing personalities that effect the play on the field - fact
- injuries played a role in our season, directly attributed to CBJ practice techniques - fact
- CBJ constantly says dumb things - fact
- we are a mediocre sec team with CPF potential talent - fact

And that my predictions for next season are not as rosy as others

That leads me to believe that CBJ time here is limited and that next season will be another mediocre season. If im wrong, great.

The Dogs will have Nick Chubb and Sony Michel back + 2 other talented backs along with Eason, it's no surprise the Dogs will be favored to win the East....It certainly looks as if the Dogs have out talented the Vols for 2017, but time will tell....

That's what I figured.

Kirby is not Mark, so who knows, but history shows Georgia is more often than not, overrated. It's also known that whoever is "picked" to win the East, usually isn't who actually does win it.

I have no idea who's gonna win it, but I'm not giving up hope until someone else has "clinched" it. And, I refuse to make fun of or trash anyone that's optimistic about the Vols.

I will "have my fun" making fun of those that have thier fun and enjoy trashing those that share my optimism.

You tell 'em buddy! Heck it's 6 months or so until the season even starts. There may be plenty of reason to piss and moan come fall, but why do some folks have to start now?
