I thought the dispute was over the issue of Adidas being a bad partner and their equipment causing injuries. That seemed like someone (i.e. Nike or UA) poisoning the well before the negotiations start. I don't recall anyone disputing the fact that the negotiations were going to happen.
As many of you have noticed, Hubbs, Fortenberry, and Price have really been on their game since Butch Jones arrived. Their info is second to none. While their info was pretty good under Dooley, they seemed to lag behind and not be in the loop as much. I found out why that has changed. My only connection to any inside info was on Dooley's staff his last year, and last night we talked. He told me that Dooley was very secretive and did not want any media leaking any information because he wanted total control over everything. Dooley did not understand the social media/marketing to the fanbase. Some younger members of the staff did not agree with this and leaked some info. Dooley never figured out who was doing it but frequently referenced the need for it to stop in staff meetings (it seems like his focus was often on the wrong things).
On the other hand, Butch Jones fully understands the need to energize and engage the fanbase. Having VQ as his media outlet is a tool he seems to be fully utilizing. If you have ever questioned the validity of their info (as I did under the previous staff), I can assure you they 100% know what is going on now and they are mouth pieces for the new coaching staff. As a result, their content and info is worth a subscription. Now, their forum is terrible and the posters over there generally aren't very good, but that's what VN is for.
This is the second of our position-by-position look at the best tandems of NFL prospects in the Southeastern Conference this season. We veered away from superstars and their sidekicks, instead looking to highlight truly strong pairs where the headliner and the supporting role are harder to distinguish, and where a pro career is most promising for both. High-level production last season was a must.
Offensive linemen: Tennessee's Antonio "Tiny" Richardson and Ja'Wuan James
Richardson is regarded with Texas A&M's Jake Matthews and Alabama's Cyrus Kouandjio as the elite left tackles in the SEC. At 6-foot-6, 327 pounds, he's the biggest and strongest of those three, although he's not regarded quite as highly as a pro prospect as either of the other two. NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah ranked Richardson as the No. 37 prospect in the nation and breaks his game down here. Richardson will look to vault his draft stock into first-round range this fall by showing improvement in space as a run blocker, particularly in reaching second-level linebackers. As a pass blocker, Richardson is outstanding, and his head-to-head matchup on Oct. 19 against South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will be scouted heavily.
James handles the right tackle position for the Volunteers, making for a true bookend pair with Richardson. A senior who passed on the chance to turn pro early last year, James (6-5, 318) has recorded 37 career starts and with a healthy season and a bowl game for UT, could reach 50. Scouting projections on James indicate he may not be athletic enough to have NFL potential as a left tackle. He is regarded more as a right tackle or, possibly, a guard. Entering his final collegiate season, James is expected to be a mid-round draft choice in 2014. Vols center James Stone and left guard Zach Fulton will likely be drafted next spring as well, but James is expected to be chosen ahead of his teammates on the interior.
I'm really good friends with a guy that trained JRM in HS. He talks to JRM about twice a week now.
Agreed 100%. There's a new passion to UT and everybody is hungry. No more of this 5 wins and getting completely embarrassed in games. Just a whole different attitude and confidence.
You guys gotta check out this bammer in BigVolDaddy's youtube video. Just watch the first 1:30 and I promise it'll be the best 1:30 of your day. :lolabove:
What's so sad is there are a lot of bammers like this (well maybe not this bad lol) that can't name five players on the team other than the qb. RTR!!

Also, aren't DTs the most heavily rotated players on the D? Short yardage, passing downs, etc, it would seem a rotation of 6 solid DTs would be optimal. That means you need at least another 6-8 in development.
