Pike was more of a pocket guy wasn't he? And Munchie seemed to stay in the pocket a lot and throw.

Pike was - Collaros is the one that could really run

Munchie was just not a very good player last year - impressive their offense still put up what it did - it shows how good that system really is that they will implement

i don't get the SEC big east argument some posters make - if you had SEC caliber players playing against big east teams that would be one thing - but Cincy didnt and played big east teams with comparable talent just like they will play SEC teams with comparable talent - so how well the system worked in the big east shouldnt be invalidated based on where it occurred - it occurred against teams with comparable talent

The Vanderbilt Commodores' 2013 football media guide that will be released on Tuesday, July 16, at SEC Media Days has been updated online to reflect the team's current roster.

Brandon Banks, Cory Batey, Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie and Brandon Vandenburg will not be a part of the 2013 roster, based on a violation of team rules as announced on June 29.

Head Coach James Franklin issued the following statement:

"For student athletes at Vanderbilt, it is a privilege, not a right, to be a part of the program. My coaching staff and I make sure every member of our team understands that. We insist on high standards of personal responsibility and integrity, and there are consequences when those standards are not met.

"In dealing with this matter, the Commodores football team will continue to hold itself to the same high standards of responsibility and integrity Vanderbilt demands of all of our students.

"We are cooperating fully with the Nashville Police Department and have pledged not to say or do anything that could interfere with its work or compromise the rights of anyone involved. We have not prejudged anyone's guilt or innocence."

The university will comment further when appropriate.

Jones' teams generally get better each season at running the ball, which makes the passing game even more effective. So that is what you will see this season; 50-60% of the O-plays will be runs. People are all worried about Worley. Worley will do well because the offense will be fit to his skillset and because the O-line is excellent with SEC experienced RBs. This is not a Chaney offensive mindset.

Collaros his JR and SR years ran the ball about 200 times for a total of about 435 yards. A QB in this offense does NOT have to be very mobile or very fast. Making good decisions is all it takes IMO.

Cade Carney, a '16 NC ATH, said we are close to offering. Already has offers from NC ST & Wake of someone can make a thread

247 recruiting has us #5, w/ four of the top five are SEC. Not to get too far ahead of myself but if CBJ and staff can coach against our SEC rivals as well as they recruit, well... :punch_bag: :salute:

I tend to agree, fast no but mobile yes. Quick release too. It's an scheme designed for "quick hits" and YAC more so than deep throws.

Don't know where to put this but Cattlegirl stated that if CBJ loses to WK he should be instantly fired but if he wins it was a game he was supposed to win. So when we crush this team maybe every station should ban this twat from the radio for a year. I understand differing opinions but I do not believe he is an actual Vol fan.

Looks like it is choreographed but still phenomenal. :hi:

Watched it about 12 times before realizing that he actually gives her an assist to get up into that position.

With UT now switching back to a 4-3, I'm really starting to wonder where Maggitt fits in to the equation.

We already know 45 will start. And from reading other articles I thought Brent Brewer would be the 3rd LB.

Hubbs just said on VQ that Dontavis Sapp has been the most consistent LB throughout Spring and early summer and he would definitely be a starter and a 3 down LB.

Any chance that 56 puts his hand in the ground quite a bit this year? Just thought it was interesting.

Trying to rep but I still disagreed with Swain. How do you justify Manziel's behavior when he was kicked out if the Manning camp? His behavior off the field I believe has a direct reflection on his decision making on the field and that is no different than Henderson or anybody else. Besides that I haven't seen one tweet from his teammates that supports what he's doing. That doesn't seem a little strange to anyone? I wonder what the team thinks about the attention he's getting. Maybe that's just me.

Brewer won't start.

I'll be surprised if Brewer starts. I think Maggitt can play either OLB or DE. He's going to be a good outside rusher no matter where he plays, if healthy, of course.

I think there are plenty of reps to go around...situational pass rusher is a spot that he will flourish in

UT has extended an offer to 2015 Maryland ATH Jalen Christian. Christian already has offers from Ohio State, Nebraska, UNC, Oklahoma, South Carolina, VT, & many others.

I don't believe there is a thread on VN for Christian yet. He is a player though. Composite Top-100 recruit for 2015 by 247Sports.

I hope Vereen locks down a starting spot by the end of the year.

You and me both. His potential is better than I thought. His recruitment didn't get a ton of publicity. I'm just not going to expect too much from a true freshman. We all know it's the very rare exceptions that produce big things as true freshman.
