Sweet. Would be nice to see a RB added since it looks like Jabo won't make it but I'll take a pass rusher all day. Interesting that Chauntez Jackson was listed as one of the similar players to Vickers on his rivals profile.

I'm not going to be surprised in the least to see this happen sometime in the near future...

I wouldn't be either. If not, it'll be interesting to see if they move someone there or not. Pretty sure I remember someone saying D Young is staying at WR regardless so scratch him off list of possible candidates. Wouldn't bother me to see JRM get a shot.

Part of me wondered if they picked up Johnson so they could move Pig to RB. I'd be curious to see him back there. JRM is intriguing too.

All indications are that he isn't going to qualify.

Which I still find strange. Last week all indications pointed to him being cleared. He stayed in Knoxville for a few days, left to go back home then tweeted that he would soon be back to Knox for good. Really tough luck for the kid.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the story was on his visit. But Hubbs and Co. at VQ have been saying for a long time that he was doubtful, and they turned even more negative on him towards the end of this past week. I'm basing my understanding off of what they have said. I assume they are talking to people who are in the know.

“i don’t want to misspeak in terms of exact numbers, but i want to say our entire receiver corps has about 20 catches in their whole career — and that’s as an entire receivers corps,” jones said. “i think our leading returning receiver is alton howard, and he didn’t even have that many. But, you know, alton howard is a very explosive player. He injured his foot (last season), and i think at times he’s still hampered by that. He’s in my office all the time, but he has to step up and be one of our playmakers.
"jason croom, i love his size, and he was progressing exceptionally well this spring, but his progress was set back with a hamstring injury. And then drae bowles continues to progress, as well. But those are three individuals that are gonna have to step up for us."

jones seems to expect at least one or two of ut’s 2013 signees will earn spots in this fall’s rotation. That’s what he told a group of fans thursday night, anyway.
“i think that’s gonna be an issue where you may see a true freshman or two playing, as well,” he said.

I am looking for North to start seems very talented

He has the talent, I'm not sure he has the polished skills a WR should have to start right away though. He's coming off an injury/surgery, and he played a lot of different positions in HS. They relied on him for a lot of plays, especially coming out of the backfield.

I agree but the guy certainly has the build to be all sec if developed correctly but i could also see just about anyone starting seems like an open race.

I agree with that. My starting WR line-up right now would be Croom, Dallas, and Carter, or at least top three. I hope Carter gets the chance to shine. I think he's a VERY solid WR. Truly solid hands, blocks, decent routes, and he works hard.

I think that's the first time I've heard a positive mention of Bowles. I also keep forgetting Pig played injured last year.

I think there will be some early growing pains with the WRs, but I think they'll settle in well. There's a lot of talent there.

Given current status not surprised by those (247) comments (ply'g freshmen). Based on Jones' offense (and previous seasons) as many as 6-9 different receivers (incl'g RBs) could touch the 'ball in any given gm. We need several players to step up.
