One other thing I don't get is why ESPN is so invested in Teo and Geno Smith.

Yesterday they acted like it was big news that a guy who ran a 4.7 40, and got trucked by Eddie Lacy about 40 times, fell out of the first round. Same type deal with Smith.

Then today they had an article on the website about how the best value is in the second round and plastered those guys faces on it.

I just don't get it. Why do they care where those two guys get drafted? I didn't find it particularly shocking or newsworthy that they fell out of the first round and neither did Gruden. At least he didn't seem to.
The like to think they are the "deciders" as to who goes where. As opposed to the actual "deciders" in the business whose livelihoods depend on these picks.

Lol and they get paid for this....

Mel Kiper went 2 for 32 in his mock draft picks, Todd McShay went 1 for 32. For those who paid money to read them, I apologize.

Kiper and McShay don't get paid to put out mock drafts. They do it because everyone wants one but they get paid to analyze college football players and both do a really good job at it. Kiper makes himself an easy target by being outspoken (just ask Bill Tobin) but I have always liked him. He more than anyone else reminds me of the NFL draft which I absolutely love. You can tell he works at this year round and not just when the draft rolls around.

if Teo had run a 4.7 at the combine he would have drafted in the 1st round - unfortunately for him with all the lights on he ran a 4.82

my guess is there are a good number of guys tailgating prior to a UT game that can line up and run a 4.82 forty

he ran better at Pro day I heard

he did - he ran a 4.71 at his pro day - i always look at combine results more - those pro days and campus times seem to be a bit friendlier

it also doesnt help that his bama tape looks like a guy who runs a 4.82 as opposed to 4.71

No way. I don't want to see him twice a year. In hoping he ends up as a starter somewhere year 1, and TB is not that place. I'm hoping for SD or maybe Jacksonville.

You should never wish a UT player to be drafted by Jacksonville!! Lol
I told my dad, sucks to be the tackle the Chiefs don't pick, going to Jacksoville would blow. I mean you are in the NFL but I'm sure
Some of these guys hope jaguars don't pick them. Long way away from being good down there
Chiefs have the chance to upset Denver IMO, if Alex Smith plays well they could really make some noise. Their D is so much better now than like two months ago. Jamal Charles is a beaSt, they could use a WR. Actually I could see Hunter being picked by them, oh wait they traded they're second round pick for Alex Smith

Did anyone else notice the draft guys talking about off the field concerns when talking about CP?

I was curious what they were referring to as i don't remember him have any issues with fellow players, discipline, runins with the law, drugs, etc

Uhhhh..Rich Rodriguez?

Whoops forgot about ole Rich Rod, well they still only shanked the hire once, better than us lol. Man, could you have imagined if he ended up at Alabama. Tide Warrior would AUTigerWarrior

Right now Bama is an NFL training facility and Manti looking so bad against them has to give NFL teams pause.

When the Draft hit around 20s, they started bringing up Mel's top Ten, and CP was number 5. And three times atleast when they had that graphic up, they didn't even mention his name. Said top four players names then when to second graphic and mentioned every player by name from 6-10. Atleast twice if not three times they did that, and Vikings first pick came up and their main need according to Mel was WR. Didn't even mention his name. And I was like WTF Brah.

Intelligence??

Aaron Rodgers getting resigned broke up 55 straight minutes of Geno Smith on ESPN.

I swear ESPN (GSPN?) gets worse every time I turn it on.

This was discussed on VQ's message boards a lot, and Hubbs said it made him chuckle. Patterson was a great guy off the field, Hubbs said. This may have been referring to his aloofness in meetings and a perception that he lacked discipline in studying the playbook. At least that's what I gathered from the discussion on VQ.

i think they even said sharrif floyd had character concerns they just make stuff up somtimes imo

I look at CP like his attitude is a just happy to be alive in the world. Like he seems like he is happy all the time, and I'm sure he will need put in some big time work on the Playbook but I don't see any issues off the field.
Although a woman was interviewing him before the draft, and said to him you are quoted as saying you like fast cars and nice clothes. I don't remember what he said but I mean who doesn't?

Jaws, Cris Carter, and Keyshawn Johnson had a lot of nice things to say about CP just now. Glad I kept switching back and forth to catch that.
