I'm curious what the crowds were like at the games this weekend. I've only seen a few games and wondered what the other ones were like.

I caught ND-Duke and couldn't understand why the sidelines were relatively empty and the endzone had a pretty good number of students. GA Tech and FSU had fans pretty well dispersed all around the stadium. Since Wake Forest Clemson is in NC, theyre limited to 50 people in the stands per the governor's order.

What were some of the other games like?

Navy wins that award from week one. Week two isn't in the books yet.

Did anybody notice after the Notre Dame game that the players sang their alma mater in a “socially distant” way? Meaning they looked like they were in stretching lines . That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. You just played tackle football for 3 1/2 hours, but now let’s maintain social distancing in post game to honor our school. Also, they had shots of the fans singing along linked arm and arm or the arms around one another. What a joke.

The whole response to all of this has been stupid at best.

Only game I caught was replay of Clemson-Wake and all I saw was cheerleaders on the hill in the EZ.
NC governor has limited all outdoor gatherings to 50 people including fans at sporting events. Doesn't matter if it's a 1000 seat high school stadium, 50,000 seat college stadium or a 75,000 NFL stadium. Maximum crowd is 50.

Illinois Gov did the same with the 50 , but wait casinos can have up to 600 indoors -- figure that one out

I wonder what political establishment could produce that level of stupidity.

Show only the field, no shots of the empty stadiums, and yes pipe in the fake fan noise. Let me live in my delusions

It's all relative. It's depressing, but not as depressing as there being no sports at all. On one hand watching sports takes my mind off the pandemic, but when they pan the stands and nobody is there, I'm instantly reminded of it.
I agree and I was also able to get into the games more than i expected because there were some games I watched from a competitive standpoint and not just for entertainment. I also think that part of the negative responses to the social justice issues being at the forefront of the sporting world is also a reminder of the craziness of the world around them. I think that most people are for equality, ending racism and supportive of the causes that have been brought forward, but at the same time there is no escape from it. I don’t care what the cause is, people don’t like to be inundated 24/7 with the same thing over and over. Those 2 things currently are people not being able to live their lives normally due to Covid and constantly seeing protests, major cities rioting, and a general societal unrest. Entering the stadiums as fans and being between the lines as players could always be a place to escape those things and now it’s impossible not to be constantly reminded of all the unrest going on in our world.
