From the experience we have had with QB's not developing.. I will take as many as we can get with the hopes that one of them comes through.
Issues with player development is a relatively new phenomena for UT. From '94 on, we had great success in QB development with Manning, Martin, Clausen, and Ainge. QB deveopment problems didn't show up until 2008 - with the exception of B/U QB's Rick Clausen and Nick Stephens. The issue with those two guys was talent. Chaney's rep is on the line if he can't develop an SEC caliber QB from the current and projected roster.
Most of us are a little antsy on the QB situation. Ainge was put in too early and suffered injuires in his FR year [2004], followed by other injuries in 2005 and 2007. Having said that, I still think we end up taking one a year from here on out. You can still RS Worley if Nance can get up to speed on 3rd string and try to pull a highly rated passer in the next year or two.

Oh that Hooker. He's something. We have Bray and a kid whose bad attitude got him tossed from Louisville who we took in desperation. I'd say it may be crowded but there is plenty of shuffle room
He said he does not have a problem to redshirt a year. Regardless if Bray is the starter or not, he could have 2 years to play after Bray is gone.
Right now, it's hard to judge recruiting by Dooley and Co. But by mid-August, I want to see some big-time names.
Worley didn't even blink when he committed (Didn't blink? He's been having Vol fans twisting in the wind the last 3 months. Why is Hooker making it aout to be that this guy just suddenly pulled the trigger on the Vols???) to Tennessee on Friday, despite freshman quarterbacks Tyler Bray and Nash Nance already on the roster.
"Not too much," the 6-foot-4, 197-pounder from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., said when asked if a crowded depth chart affected his decision. (Pure foolishness...) "I know anywhere I go there's going to be competition. I didn't really think about it."
Simms will likely be the starter for the next two years barring injury or Bray really gaining bulk. Bray really looks to be the real deal if he can get his weight and strength up.
Bray will probably play this fall as Simms' back up. If Simms has a lackluster year then Bray could overtake him next spring.
Nance will RS this year and I suspect Worley will next fall. These two plus the '12 and '13 commits will battle it out when Bray is gone.
This is the most likely scenario IMO.
The point was and is that I don't think that you need to worry about Chaney's ability to develop either Bray or Worley into an SEC caliber QB. He had a big hand in developing Drew Brees when he was at Purdue.
