Dave Hooker:

Worley didn't even blink when he committed to Tennessee on Friday, despite freshman quarterbacks Tyler Bray and Nash Nance already on the roster.

"Not too much," the 6-foot-4, 197-pounder from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, S.C., said when asked if a crowded depth chart affected his decision. "I know anywhere I go there's going to be competition. I didn't really think about it."

Worley says he made Dooley's day GoVolsXtra

Thoughts?

I guess he means two freshmen are in front of him.

I know what he means. I guess, by comparison, I just don't consider that a crowded depth chart. Maybe it's just me.

Kinda nice be able to have a debate on if our QB depth is crowded or not.

With as many receivers as we have now, it wouldn't bother me to get a couple more Qb's to make sure, one of them, can deliver.

Oh that Hooker. He's something. We have Bray and a kid whose bad attitude got him tossed from Louisville who we took in desperation. I'd say it may be crowded but there is plenty of shuffle room

I like the competitive attitude evidenced in Worley's last statement in Freak's quote.

"I know anywhere I go there's going to be competition. I didn't really think about it."

it will be interesting to see what happens if bray wins the qb job. i wonder if that would affect worley's commitment

Ok maybe a dumb question and im not obsessed with ratings but i was just curious if he has been rated yet? On rivals it says 3 star, 5.5. But beside his name it says NR. Which one is it? Anybody?

True. It didn't affect Crompton when Ainge/Schaeffer were the QB's. Who knows.

He's a 3*. Don't put much stock in it, particularly at this point. They'll change their ratings as they play the upcoming season.

He's a 3-star, but the staff's top quarterback target. fwiw.

There is a bit of uptick in recruiting. If Dixon, the soon-to-visit DT prospect, and some others continue to commit, it would help the cause.

It'd be nice to have a solid group who isn't that concerned about the coming season, as it may not be a strong statement.

i would love to see CDD try and sway braxton miller but that may be wishful thinking... worley seems really good on stats but that is high school. he could be really great up at UT though. i am just ready for some football:rock:

Ok thanks. Yeah i think the offer list is a better indicator anyway.

3*'s can go up or down either way quite easily.

Plus, as Freak implied, our staff could be far better at judging talent. That'll take a while to figure out.

From the experience we have had with QB's not developing.. I will take as many as we can get with the hopes that one of them comes through.

Hasn't seemed to be an issue for USC over the years, they consistently bring in 4 and 5 star QB's. ND also has several quality QB's in the fold as do other elite programs. It's not an issue for players who believe they can win the job. For those who don't think they can, it is an issue and they will leave, see Nick Stevens and B. J. Coleman.
