Crowd today

And whoever said stop scheduling these low tier schools, shame on you. They depend on the money they make from these games and their fans are always so excited to see a game in our stadium. I have no issue with the Western Carolinas in the world. Love seeing games were we get to empty the bench and see some of these younger kids get good game reps.

Same issue with hunting lions in Africa.

Well, I was going to go. I had 5 tickets and 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Worlds Fair Park, totaling right around $775 + gas from SC, food, VolShop, etc...so about $1200 for the weekend. But then I watched the coaches quit at halftime last week and became a little less enthused, so I sold my tickets on StubHub and got a refund from Holiday Inn.

Beat a real team every now and then if you want people to show up to these scrub games.

I hope it was Tennessee fans that got your tickets. They got to see something that hasn't happened in 65 years. And Eric Berry running the sideline when Evan scored on his return! That was awesome!!

If it was WCU fans that got them, I hope they enjoyed the game in Neyland. Their fan section was clapping along to Rocky Top at one point.

You have to schedule one or two of these games to load up the home schedule. Most schools want a home and home these schools only want the money.

We played Memphis State in 96, how'd that turn out?

Yep. I was there and wondered how that could have happened. As most of us recall, the refs let a kick returned get up from the ground and score with no one chasing him. That also the game in which Al Wilson was injured and did not play much of the game.

I was in AA and I disagree, I was shocked it was that full and I think it's tickets sold not butts in seats anyways, isn't it?

I think we actually agree. I was saying the reported number was inflated and there were more like 85-90k people in the stadium. However, I do think it's based on tickets sold. Impressive attendance for an FCS team nonetheless.

If they took one of those gigapixel picture things I could tell you for sure lol.

I noticed that. After we played their fight song they continued to clap and sing Rocky Top. They were there to enjoy the experience.

The stadium looked pretty full. I know there were some empty seats in spots but I was shocked at how filled it was.

I noticed that before Evan hit the Checkerboards. Eric was jumping up and down. Fun night.

No it's good for college football. Funds the fcs program all year

Just let Power 5 teams donate 1 million each to FCS then play some real games. I know there is an upset from time to time, but usually these are boring games. These are just scrimmages for the most part. If you have to do it, then do it the last week in August. Take a week off, then start the real season.

I was impressed with the crowd from what I saw on TV. It looked almost full. I didn't think that many people would come since it was WCU but a buddy of mine made the point that it is the last truly affordable game of the year for many.

Besides North Texas of course.
