Question to all the crow eaters and Dooley praisers: If you just received a job making 2 million a year in essence a triple your salary raise, how hard would you have recruited and how much praise would you bestowing on your new employer and what it stands for?

I am no where close to being in the Dooley camp but I am in the Vol camp and will support the young men who play.

FlashofOrange, it takes a true Vol to admit he screwed up. I have been a Vol for many many years and drank the orange koolaid last year. I regret that I did, but I think "X" got all us Vols fired up and then left us hanging, thinking we had nothing to look foward to. Well, we ALL have changed that thought. When CDD was annouced as the new coach, I researched him and thought that he sounded like a good hire, eventhough he didn't have that tremendous win record. Then at his press conference he reaffirmed my feeling. CDD is "the real deal"! He has been very smart in all his decission on his staff and did not appear to get rushed to make a poor choice. Then to save our 8 early enrollees and put together such a recruiting class in 18 days. Yes there are always guys you wish we would have got or gone after, but you have to admit that CDD did a remarkable job with such little time to prepare. "X" tried to railroad the Vols and we see how that played out. So we lost 2 to the West! If you don't wanna play here and where the orange with pride, then don't waste our time. Example: The 2010 Premadona Ambles!!! I am glad he did not sign with the Vols, just because he was high maintance and wasted alot of our time! I hope the NCAA drops the hammer on USC and Ambles can watch what he missed out on with the rest of the nation. It just shows how much people worry about UT and how "X" thought he could derail us and try to make it as he was the total package. Instead he just played out what we already knew. One predictable, BS talking, liar that talks out of his a$$. This all old news to the Vol nation and thats all I got to say about that. The Vol nation IS back and will do nothing, but grow in numbers. SEC look out because we are gonna bleed orange all over you!!! Mark my words and wait and see.

much, much better to see the situation warrant a "crow" thread instead of an "i told you so" thread.

recruiting, staff, practice, season

CDD has done an impressive job so far with the first two.

let's hope the rest goes well.

but temper the SECC talk. it was going to be a tough year even if boy blunder, coach zero, and combover had stayed. 6 wins and a bowl game would look pretty good for the 2010 vols.

As good as this class is, much of it will not see the field or have an impact til 2012. We are on the way, but this year is going to be brutal. I mean "6-6 I hope so" brutal. The game is won on the trenches and we are going to get buried, knifed, shot, blown up, and vaporized in those trenches this year.....

:eek:lol:

He is a.....wait for it.......kicker. I can't believe these expectations when UT has it worst/thinnest talent since the mid-80s. This board is gonna be in meltdown when the 2-5 Vols storm Columbia on Halloween.

CDD did a job good keeping this recruiting class together but temper the expectations. He really shouldn't be judged on wins until the 2012 season. The program was in the ditch and it ain't going from 0 to 60 in 2 years.

It is your opinion. Just like any ones opinion means nothing.

I give him a few years to see what he's made of, I don't think you can judge him one way or the other until hes got a season or two under his belt

If anything CDD has started to earn our trust as fans, now he just has to build on that. I was one of the haters also and I now have faith. I think great things are ahead for UT Football.

Have some Orange Doolaid with some Moonshine in it. Helps to numb the those painful thoughts and bring visions of an undefeated season!!:dance2:

At least it is a few more than the "X" and "coach that can't be named" hypocrites who act like scorned lovers.

This is really NOT a Dooley class except for a few he added to it unexpectantly.

We won't see a Dooley recruiting class until a year from now.

Even then it will take another 2 or 3 years to start getting the Dooley class members coached up and ready to put a real Dooley class on the gridiron.

We need to be realistic here folks because we won't be able to give a fair evaluation of what all our Diesel Dooley can really do for 4 to 6 years from now.

With the teams we have to play and the talent they've been recruiting for years it WILL take time for us to build back our powerhouse football reputation nationwide.

This coming season we're very shorthanded and if we even make a bowl game at all then I'll say the Dooley Diesel team did a good job for our 1st step back to the top of the mountain.

GO BIG ORANGE !!!

I have not been against the hire from the get go, but I do think that we should wait til at least he has won a single game before we start handing out crow. I believe that he will do well and have said from the start that I trust the hire and that they know what they are doing. But do give it a little time to see what happens
