You're absolutely right, there's something to be said for that loyalty and I think it's great. I don't have any problems with Martin as a person or a man of character, he's got all that in spades. He's a nice guy. I don't want him to fail. But ... did it take the fanbase getting riled up and on Martin's case to make this turnaround happen? Or help contribute to it happening? Did they have to take offense at people maligning the coach to be motivated? Because that worries me a bit. It shouldn't take folks frothing at the mouth over their former coach to get the team to respond ... I would think. But we were one loss away from the NIT for 7 games there. Eh. I don't know for certain, but I hope the streak has nothing to do with the whole Pearl fiasco.

There's some fans that questioned his coaching ability(me included) because the way the we were playing at first and losing games that we shouldn't have.For 3 years we played inconsistently 3/4 of the season and play better at the end.There's some fans, kudos by the way, that stuck it out.We all want to see us win.Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Also entitled to changed it.Mine's changing.I think Martin's figuring it out.Big Congrats to Martin and the players!

I will support him for as long as he's our coach, but he's not done anything to earn undying loyalty. Beating up on UMass and Mercer are things we should be doing. We've got the talent to be one of the better teams in the country. His coaching brought us down to a team that barely made it in to the tourny.

If he coaches well vs Michigan(I'm not even saying we have to beat Michigan, just if he coaches well), he'll have earned another chance, IMO. But if that doesn't happen, I don't want him back.

I think we have a diamond in the rough in Coach Martin and we should try to keep him. It is not fair to compare CCM to CBP. I loved CBP while he was here, he was a great showman, recruiter and coach. He had also been a head coach for almost 15 years before getting here. CCM had only been a head coach for 3 years before coming to UT, he' still makes a few mistakes, but from what I can tell he is learning from them. If we have just a little patience, I think we'll have more NCAA runs like this one in the UT Bball future. Go Vols!

One more win and Coach Martin will have this team the same place that Bruce Pearl had them a few years back. How huge would it be for Coach Martin to get this team to the Final Four? It very well could happen...

I prefer my crow roasted.

I lost hoe on CCM when he lost for the second time against aTm. He's Done nothing but impress since the tournaments have begun.

I'll have some of the crow. I feel bad to the point that I wish I could personally apologize to CCM. Luckily, he does not give a lick about my opinion. I just seriously hope he is not to upset with the UT fan base.

Major credit to CCM and the team for an amazing turnaround and run. Playing with house money, at this point!

he is a reasonable man. I think he knows that he/the team was underperforming at times this season and probably understands why he received criticism.

if he doesn't, he won't make it anywhere...no matter where he goes, there will be criticism of some sort...it is the nature of the beast.

Absolutely! Stick this team in with all the rest of the sweet 16 teams this program has produced.

Enjoy the dang moment! They dont happen very often. Instead if bellyaching about how lucky our draw is or how miserable we are going to be next year, be thankful for what is right in front of us. You guys kill me, I swear.
