Per RockytopInsider this would be welcome news. At least maybe one of them would choose to stay.

"The sophomore duo of Henry To’o To’o and Quavaris Crouch were Tennessee’s starting inside linebackers last season, but both could end up leaving Rocky Top by the time the season-opener on Sept. 4 against Bowling Green rolls around.

In the case of To’o To’o, the California native is already in the transfer portal, though he could potentially be returning to Knoxville for spring practice. Crouch has been rumored to be transferring following the coaching change, but is going to go through spring practice and get a gauge for the new staff before making a final decision."

They need to be in school and in somebody’s Spring Practice for their own good. The late coaching change really screwed up their timing as far as being able to look at options and transfer before Spring semester.

We have Defensive coaches or are they moving to Offense?

I don't know if it was true, but someone noted that since they've taken classes, they're forbidden from transferring to another school until the spring semester ends. Can any confirm whether this is covered in the NCAA rule book?

If so, then yeah, they kinda got themselves stuck and should stay with the team for now, so they can work out and get to know the new coaching staff. It's good for the lads, fits Coach Heupel's value of "family," teaches the rest of the team forgiveness and compassion, and might just give us more depth at LB in 2021. Seems pretty win-win to me.

Go Vols!

p.s. If they do go through spring camp as Vols, and then still want to transfer in June, they shouldn't be allowed to transfer within the SEC or to any opponent we play this year. Cost of getting the opportunity to learn our new coaching staff's schemes and play book.

Slant? As in what?
He's talking about slant routes run by receivers. Something we have not been super good at covering for several years now.

Ridiculous idea. If they are not commiting to Tennessee in the fall, then they shouldn't be allowed on our practice field. Remember these two entered the portal to transfer. They took the first move to leave. We should not play their game.
Totally agree. People like this can cause more drama in the locker room even if they don’t intend it.
