I agree with this. I think the coaches use the negative comments to pump the guys up. They are looking for some fire out of some of them and the comments are their way of doing it. Croom has 5 catches for 97 yards and a TD in week 1.

Yep. That's how I feel about it. Everything I've read to date makes it sound like he's doing well enough to start. When I hear them say they want more, I'm thinking Amari Cooper, Marquise Lee, Sammy Watkins more. I think they believe he can be a super star if he puts it together.

LOL

IMO, this is CJF's doing. He is thinking ahead and having the chics on campus who are OK with being "next" branded so the football team knows who is in play and who is not. If they don't have the stamp, don't call in your buddies. TIFWIW.

Come on now man. I know you're just trying to make a joke, but that girl and those kids parents are probably tormented by this. Usually, I would be the first to bash Vandy, but there is a time and a place for those types of jokes. Youre better than that

This statement will be proven wrong in the first quarter of the Austin Peay game. Croom is doing very well and will play a bunch this fall.

I think a lot of the depth chart fluctuation is motivational right now. You have a bad practice you start the next practice with the 3rd string and it motivates you to work harder.

When the lights come on, Croom, Dallas/Carter, and Pig will probably be your starters and North, Harris, and Young will get a lot of PT. Smith, Blanc, and Jenkins will see time if there's an injury.

I think Bowles and Johnson are special teamers right now.

Just how I see it.

I think Cam Sutton is just a better player than Rihyad. JMO

I agree he may be. I hope Cam never looks back. Still you will see some rotation, and I think if Rihyad didnt respond to the demotion, that further demotion to motivate him may have been nessesary.

The premise is that incoming freshmen have to earn the right to wear the orange stripe. If my understanding of the process is correct, the decision on when the black stripe should be removed is made primarily, if not exclusively, by the upperclassman who is mentoring each freshman. It is yet another strategy to instill the message that it is a privilege, not a right, to wear Tennessee orange, while simultaneously building personal accountability, leadership and group solidarity.

appreciate the update. thanks.

And has there been some chatter to back up that opinion?

Just like everyone I have an opinion. I based this on looking at his size, the pace of CBJ offense, the best way to use an athlete with his size and ability and what I have read from the practice reports.

I don't disagree that he will have a productive year with the possibility of having some gaudy numbers but I feel he would be utilized more effectively getting those tough short to medium yard catches and mismatches in the red zone.

Having a lot of options at receiver is not a bad problem. But it will take time to find those reliae receivers the QB is comfortable with.

In the end we are all on the same team and all have diffrent opinions. Go Vols!

Fair enough. I actually think he plays TE in the nfl. Time will tell
