Man I know its a small thing, but I've noticed how all the players are in UT gear at these meetings, not dressed in just anything. The atmosphere really speaks out as team first.

Not a small thing...and a good observation!...Loving the team vibe!

Idk hiw Butch runs his program by detail, but when I was playing college ball it was a requirement to wear the team gear to meatings and team functions. None the less its good to see.

@jamesfranklinvu: #dorejam how cool is this, our fans are showing tremendous support of our program & our players! #VUFBPassion http://t.co/578pwGWPaU

Freshmen have a black helmet stripe. It is removed when you are deemed worthy of having worked hard or played well...I think.

The premise is that incoming freshmen have to earn the right to wear the orange stripe. If my understanding of the process is correct, the decision on when the black stripe should be removed is made primarily, if not exclusively, by the upperclassman who is mentoring each freshman. It is yet another strategy to instill the message that it is a privilege, not a right, to wear Tennessee orange, while simultaneously building personal accountability, leadership and group solidarity.

I guarantee for every Vandy tattoo , there's 25 UT tattooos.

Not sure if that's a good thing, but still.

Said it before Croom is not an every down receiver. 3rd downs and red zone will be his specialty.

This statement will be proven wrong in the first quarter of the Austin Peay game. Croom is doing very well and will play a bunch this fall.

No not football God but at least he hasn't said "slobber knocker" or "work like heck" yet that I know of. Come on it's the pre-season and we're bored so we look for stuff to post about. I respect both Coach Majors and Fulmer and the great things they did for the school, but could it have been better, yes. This time of year is about hope. Hope that the new coaches will exceed our expectations. Hope that the players will remain injury free and play the best football of their careers. Hope that we will win some we aren't expected to. Yes, we all have some things we didn't like about past regimes and things we did. Let's look forward to the season and sorry, I didnt't mean to be a Debbie Downer.

What's wrong with slobber knocker?

I agree with this. I think the coaches use the negative comments to pump the guys up. They are looking for some fire out of some of them and the comments are their way of doing it. Croom has 5 catches for 97 yards and a TD in week 1.

I don't usually advocate tweeting opposing teams' coaches. But, in this instance, fun is required to be made of this man.
