He may be wanting to get his foot back in the door for a head coaching gig in the future.

I heard his wife is looking at houses in knoxville and was spotted buying UT gear at the mall.

Perhaps he doesn't like coaching NFL, perhaps he'd prefer college football in general and SEC in particular. He probably got a nice pay check as a parting gift from MSU so can hang for a year or two as an SEC position coach until a better career option presents itself.

But Steven Jackson doesn't.

Croom would still stick around when they start firing Mike Martz and that entire staff.

My question would be if hes going to use this to get another head coaching job. He was a good coach but didnt have anything to work with at Miss State.

It would take awhile for anybody to give him another HC opportunity. Coach turnover isn't a team killer anyways.

probably just a rumor but I would not be suprised if he was on Kiffin's list or if Croom has reached out....would be an excellent pickup

Jimmy Hyams is reporting that Croom was fired as the head coach at Mississippi State.
