It's obvious that Crompton has been playing great football over the past few weeks. IF the Vols win out this season, how will Crompton be remembered? Will he be considered an overall bad qb, a qb who evolved to his full potential a little too late in his college career, or do we blame the Cutcliffe/Clawson/Chaney changes for all those losts? I admit that I've written some anti-Crompton posts over the past season and a half, but are JC's latest performances enough to forget the past?

Or should we wait to see Nick Stevens next year before we make this decision?

It will be that Fulmer/Clawsen screwed with this kid's head so much that it just took forever to be the player we thought he could be.

I think he will be forever known as a late bloomer if he wins out and wins us a bowl game....I think the past few weeks is how we expected him to play when he come here out of high school

I'm already thinking of him as the kid who finally got the coaching and play calling he needed to succeed.

If we win out, no way he is remembered as a bad QB! I was one of the ones that was down on this kid bad and after seeing him pick it up and play the way he has the past few games, I'm behind him 110%! Having 4 different OC's cant be easy on anyone.

this is what I'm leaning towards. i read an article before the season started explaining this same exact opinion. something like, "kiffin's offense is the simple play action style that will fit crompton perfectly". i wish it kicked into effect earlier though. ie: ucla

He will be a legend in my book for getting Fulmer fired and then getting the Lane Train rolling.

Agreed, if he had received this kind of coaching last season we would be contending for the SEC championship this season.

The way the other thread is going, he may be remembered as the only QB to play wearing a black jersey ... kidding.

He will be remembered as tough QB who triumphed when everyone hated him.

I see him falling somewhere between Ainge and Rick Clausen.

This.

Clausen was really under appreciated but the kid went out and managed it good enough to get some good wins. Crompton will be remembered as a sad figure who most of us will wish had another year, just for his sake. IMO
