If he can follow up on the 2nd half of the Auburn game and play solid tommorrow, it will give him the confidence needed going into the Bama game in 2 weeks..

If he comes out and gives another flat performance we will easily be 2-6 heading into the Memphis game. Me personally, I'm giving him one more chance. He still has one more shot tommorrow to keep any hope for the season alive. If he plays like himself, then he deserves any criticism he receives for the rest of his career

UT - 24
UGA - 16

sadly, it won't be his last chance. Here's why...

UGAys passing defense is 11th in the SEC, so there is a chance, JC goes out there, performs horrible when it matters, puts together some meaningless drive(s) , ala Auburn, but still loses the game and we get to hear, "we're doing somethings better out there...." in the post game presser.

This is going to be a perpetual nightmare for the rest of the season. Book it.

The Vols will do well against the Bulldogs in this game. I think we all will be pleased. A different game plan and approach will prove to be successful.

My thoughts exactly. I know the OP was pretty mild in his criticism of JC, unlike many people here. Hell, everybody knows he's not living up to his potential...it's not a big secret. I seriously doubt he WANTS to screw up all the time. It's not like he's not trying. This kid has got more pressure on him than most of us can imagine. Many posters here act like he is trying to personally offend them by playing badly. He drives me crazy, too. But he's obviously going to remain the UT QB for the foreseeable future. If I were a recruit and I were to come to this site, I would be a little wary of coming to a school where the fan base was so wishy-washy and critical.

At the end of the day, he does not deserve any of the criticism he gets. He doesn't. No college athelete does, no matter their talent level. It just has gotten really old, really fast.

Watch for JC band wagons to pop up every where.

lol. Yea really. Do you remember the .. "We owe JC an apology, those people know who they are...." thread after his performance against WKU High School? If we beat UGA you'll see people all over the place praising him. I won't until he strings a couple a good games together. I hope he does well, sadly he won't.

He needs to stand up like Kodi Burn (Auburn) and in front of everybody on the team say:
I am not a very good QB, I am going to bench myself and give someone else a chance.
I have nothing against Crompton, he just needs to admit he is terrible. I think he would gain the favor of the UT faithful.

I hope Crompton plays well but I don't expect it. Anything gotten out of him that is positive at this point is just a bonus. I look forward to the first snap of next Spring when at least I know he will not be under center.

FAIL.

Coach tells him "you give us the best chance to win" and his response, according to you, should be, "I quit."

Good grief, why didn't I see it before. Everyone in Vol land loves a quitter. F#@* the team coach, I suck. I'm gonna man up and QUIT. Right on, that has my respect.

No. He actually needs to stop thinking about all the swirling non-sense, clear his head, stop worrying about making mistakes, stop worrying about what fans will say if WR's make him look bad by running route wrong, stop worrying about what fans or the media will say period, stop overthinking everything... and play with assertive confidence like he did in the latter part of the Auburn game.

The only way I would do what you suggest is if he went into CLK's office and said, "If Denarius is going to play, I want to step aside". Nothing personal against D Moore. I had high hopes for him. But he's been terrible. Jones has been bad but Moore has been incredibly bad.

Can JC have this kind of turn around? I don't know but history isn't on his side.

 JC will keep us close, b/c we wont score much...and seeing that most teams dont score a lot on us...it should be close!!

GA-23
UT-17....10 of these points in the last 6 mins of the game
