Crompton's Dad escorted from game?

I don't know you or care to ever know you but by calling me a douche bag for simply stating my opinion ,isn't that the same as people booing JC? Or if I did know you or was in your presence when you said that , I would probably act like JC's dad did and come over there and slap you around a little.:good!:

Jonathan Crompton and his dad don't deserve to be treated like that. Those who act in a vile manner towards them, presumably such as yourself (and if you didn't act ugly towards Crompton than I rescind the d-bag comment), do.

There are some really low class Vol fans. I thought all the inbreds were in Kentucky.

So........are you Vols having QB issues?
What's funny about all of this is, Crompton thoroughly sucked in the Army AA game, and I VIVIDLY remember wondering what in the hell he was doing with a 5* rating coming out of HS. I think it was Sanchez in the same game and he looked great.

I have come to realize that the game is a decent barometer of talent.

Speaking of some fans being ridiculous (not only to our players, but general football information), we had fans getting angry as wet hornets when CLK brought in a strong set of TE's for short yardage on a 4th down. These idiots thought when he took out the WR's that we were punting! Go figure. Also let it be noted we had some one at the Florida game yelling to CLK to "PUT STEPHENSON IN!!" Actual quote, no misspelling. This Stephenson guy they talk about, where's our secret weapon been hiding?

I agree with everyone else. It's classless to make fun of Crompton within earshot of his dad. Maybe they didn't know who he was......

Yes we are dissatisfied with our QB play, but this carousel of heckling occurred not too long ago with Erik Ainge. I know it sucks to say this, but we have been expecting Manning, Martin or (Casey) Clausen to run through the T for years now. I can agree with a boo here or there, but I don't believe wishing death and mayhem on his family and his seed is going to do the trick.

I think Kiff is being unfair to Crompton to not take him out. People would be less upset with quarterback play if they could see someone else given a chance. People should boo kiff if they want another QB. I feel sorry for the kid, not being able to deliver what everyone thought him capable of.

Kiff is a lot more stubborn about this than Fulmer was. Disasterous qb play got Fulmer fired as much as than anything else.

Not real sure that I would put Clausen in that category. He got a lot of grief during his time here. I always loved hearing some "fans" talk about how he wasn't tough bc he was from California!

People booed Martin most of the season, when we almost lost to Ark there were people behind me saying our qb sucks. I know a lot of people booed Clausen and I even heard a few people booing when Peyton was a freshman. Crompton has been bad I understand, but I imagine if Stephens gets in there will be cheers for a while(1st series). Then there will be a set of fans booing him too.

So let me get this straight - you are upset because Crompton keeps trotting out there with the offense. Last time I checked the players go in the game because the Head Coach sends them. I'm satisfied enough with everything else I've seen from CLK so far (Staff, Recruiting, FL rivalry rekindled) to back him on this one. I hate losing, but not our players.

Is this the man who got escorted out?
This is his dad.
Looks like he could play some defensive tackle at UT.
Big guy.

this is not the guy that was escorted out . I sit in Y6 row 5 and saw it. It looked to me like the guy that was escorted out was sitting with the Cromptons and may have turned around to defend them. He had a upside down backwards visor on . The security came and got him and took him out , also the heckler in row 2 . Cromptons dad was right there next to him and never left his seat. They both returned to their seats though. I believe Cromptons mom then left and looked very upset.

sounds like they need to head up to Hambones skybox out of the fray.

sucks for the mom, but this is the reality of big-time college SEC football

anyone who wears a visor up-side down backwards in the rain is an idiot...had to be from crompton's gene pool...

I don't think toughness is what people are booing about. His personality wasn't great, but his performance is what we wish we had now. I seem to remember Clausen with a 14-1 record on the road and 2-1 vs. Florida. Had it not been the 2001 SEC Championship, we'd be touting him alongside Manning and Reggie White around the upper deck awning.

Would have applauded if they escorted Johnathan Crompton out of the stadium at the end of the third quarter.. Or even the end of the pre game stretching would have been better,

I was watching cromptons dad last night, towards the end of the game. He was wearing a vol jacket with the # 8 on it. He at 1 point kinda just looked disgusted his self when Crompton threw it behind Hancock.

The backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team when the team, especially the offense, is struggling. The same thing is happening here in Nashville with the Titans; people are now crying for Young to replace Collins, probably the same that booed him heavily last year. Much like Crompton, there's a reason Collins is the starter. Although in Young's case, maybe some just want him to attempt to try and earn some of the big money his overrated self gets paid.
