Crompton looked pretty good in the OW game. I just watched it on SS. The interception was more so the tight end's fault. The best thing was how fast tempo the play was without the offense turning it over much. Coleman looked to be like he could be really good. I loved that one play to Hancock in the endzone.

Coleman and Crompton are about even. I guess that is where coaches decide who is more of a leader and rallies the guys together.

maybe its because im not a fan of crompton and im just being too harse, but I wasnt impressed with him. Sure, he was better than last year but still not at the level he should be in order to compete in the SEC. He was still only what,,13 for 28? The passes that he did complete were mostly because the WRs were grabbing everything near them. Most of his complete passes were off enough that the WR had to adjust to catch it and lose momentum. I was at least glad to see him checking through his WRs. This was a nice change from last year when he would stare at the guy from the line all the way till he threw it.

Coleman was who really impressed me. He made smart decisions, fought to get the ball where he wanted it/needed to be, and he made things happen.....such as that TD pass. The only pass that I saw that wasnt a good decision was the one that flew out of the back of the end zone. Coleman seems to be a leader as well and I would love to see him start. At least he now has a chance to show himself. He got what....6 passes last year? Sure he was a freshman but as a coach you should be able to notice talent and exploit it.

Sorry for my rant. I am just not a fan of Crompton anymore just like I wasnt a fan of Clauson a few years ago. I hope he can step up to the plate and deliver but I dont have the faith right now. Of course, Ainge made a great improvement and so I guess it can happen.

Those two being even isn't much of a compliment to either. I was really hoping someone would step up and run away with it.

Coleman played better. the stats dont lie even Crompton's best friend the film doesnt lie. BUT The defense didnt do anything fancy at all so i still dont know who should get the job. but from Saturday Coleman should get it IMO

I was at the game...Crompton showed nothing different than last year...

The competition will be between Stephens and Coleman, with Coleman having the edge right now. I will honestly be shocked if Crompton starts the first game over either one of the other two...

Coleman guided the offense very nicely...now given he was going against the second team defense, but Crompton was going against a Berry-less, Vinson-less secondary and thin D-line without Martin, Brown and maybe others that I missed and still did not impress...

Is it me, or was just about every pass Crompton threw on a roll out? Did he ever just drop back, set up, read and throw?

As much as I like Coleman I believe if we were to get ready next week to play a game Crompton would be the starter

crompton will be the starter against wku. just a gut feeling. he's already got a slight edge over the other two since he's obviously the one working with the 1st team, and he didn't blow that position in the spring game either.

Being at the game, I felt like Coleman was much more impressive than Crompton. I thought Crompton looked good on the first drive, and never even came close to matching the the rest of the game. Coleman seemed much more in control of the offense and knowing where to go with the ball. I really hope Coleman gets the nod.

I thought all 3Qbs looked bad...we dont have a QB yet.....All three missed wide open guys, threw the ball sparatically, and Coleman and Nick Stephens both were all shook up once the play broke down and they had to run outside of the pocket....thats my take on it...

Everyone needs to chill with all of the Coleman talk being our starter, CLK has said over and over the job is Crompton's.

i must have been under a rock since December then. I've never once heard Kiffin say that the QB job is Crompton's.

Kiffin anointed Crompton as the clear-cut leader in the race after the second week of practice, and has doled out the majority of the first team reps to the senior since that point. Coleman has had his ups and downs getting the majority of the second team reps and Stephens hasn't been a real factor because of a combination of missed time and the wrist.

Crompton remains the leader coming into the spring homestretch and it's likely to end that that way heading into summer. Coleman has put up better numbers in scrimmage situations, but he has also had the benefit of working against the second-team defense.

From what I've read Coleman and Crompton were bracketed as both being the number 1 QB. A 1a and 1b type thing I believe that was on TOS i could be mistaken though. The things I've noticed is JC seems to get progressively worse as the game goes on. He started out great and then started bounce passing yesterday. I don't know if it's a conditioning thing or a pressure thing. He also stares a hole through his receivers. While some of Coleman's and even Stephen's passes weren't that pretty they still took the time to go through their progressions. BJ seems to have that playmaking ability. I'm not meaning VY or Mike Vick highlights. I'm talking extending the play and finding a place to get the ball. I kept thinking on his last touchdown yesterday that he missed the TE that was open for about 3 seconds in the back of the endzone but he extended the play and made up for his missed read. While none of the 3 are great, I do think we have all 3 of these guys under a huge microscope and forget the fact that they have had less than a month to actually run through the plays. And if JC does "win" the starting job I'll be there Sept. 5th supporting him all the way to a Big Orange Win.

Did any of you guys not watch the game? If we would have been playing against Florida or Georgia they would have ate us alive with Crompton at QB. Everytime he snapped the ball on a pass play he never looked off a receiver one time! Soon as he said hike his eyes were locked on his receiver. Any half way decent defense would take advantage of that in a heart beat! Didn't see that problem with Coleman or Stephens, but did see the fatigue become a factor in the second half with under thrown passes and then sailing the ball on the very next play. Too much inconsistancy for my liking! But, fortunately we got a long time to work on it.

it's probably well known that crompton is more than not the lead guy at this point since he is the one practicing with the 1st string, but its not like kiffin has said that he's definitely the qb that will be the starter in the fall. it's still an ongoing competetion
