Crompton

It really doesn't make much sense that Tee Martin wouldn't have redshirted. I can't really remember why he didn't.

I'm telling you, I swear I think it's b/c we were almost certain PM was leaving and we knew he'd need to play some and get prepared. Maybe he wasn't the "backup", I may be wrong on that account, but I know I remember us not redshirting him b/c we KNEW he'd have to play some that year.

What I find interesting about discussing Tennessee's QB situation next season, and Crompton and Coleman, is no one mentions Stephens name. But when people attend the scrimmages and see all 3 play, most say Stephens has the strongest arm.

I know Stephens is slow, I think his rival bio has him running a 5.0 sec 40 yd dash, but Crompton's was listed as 4.8. I don't understand why everyone overlooks Stephens. If has the strongetst arm of the 3 quarterback's won't he get a long look at QB? He's been at Tennessee for two years and has had an opportunity to learn the system and the playbook.

Just like almost everything else in this conversation.... we'll have to wait till the Spring to find out.

No . . . Modding here is as much as I can handle.

I just stumbled on that info. I didn't realize that they had the stats for all the lettermen.

I'm about to call a guy that I know that played in the late 60s just to see if he'll be honest about the number of Interceptions he had in college. :)

Poor guy.:)

Jeez.... 40 years later... you really think he remembers?

I can't really remember but I assume it probably had something to do with the fact that Jermaine Copeland was seeing significant action as the 3rd or 4th WR starting in 1996 and they needed a 3rd QB in case Manning and/or Copeland got hurt.

I've mentioned Stephens several times. BJ may or may not be the best option but his first challenge will be to pass NS and get the back-up's practice snaps. Only then will he challenge JC. From the little I've been able to read on NS, he isn't looking back at BJ worried about losing the back up job... he's trying to become the starter.

If his arm is as good as I've heard, he probably has a better shot than BJ at this point of unseating JC.
