Anybody watch the Chargers game the other night? I only saw the one series where he played, but he looked pretty good. Had one really nice throw across the middle, and another that hit the WR in the EZ right in his hands... of course it was dropped.. but not because it was a bad throw. I hope the kid does well... After putting up with the fecal diatribes he did while here, he deserves it.

I DVRed it and overall he looked good, he did sail one throw which resulted in a pick.

But overall he looked comfortable out there.

If he can study one offensive system and learn for a few years, who knows. Maybe he'll get a shot. Ryan Leaf had a lot of talent but could never get comfortable reading a defense.

I have a lot of respect for Crompton as a person and as a football player. He deals with adversity as well as anybody can and I believe he will do the same in the NFL.

I for one hope Crompton does well in the NFL. He went through a lot in college. Though some stuff was his fault, most wasn't!

I DVR'd all the games NFL Network played. I think he performed as well as any other rookie QB. He did have one sail on him like someone else mentioned that got picked but he also had end zone drop that was clearly the receivers fault. I think he's going to perform well enough to get his chance ... eventually ... it may take a couple years.

The main thing is for him to be able to stay in one system for long enough to get comfortable.

It's not like he had the best conditions to thrive under, and I definitely cursed at him more than once.

Watch him turn out to be the next Manning. Hope he does stellar as with all former UT players.

PS- UT has the highest paid offensive and defensive players in the NFL.

I thought Eli passed Peyton for the time being.

Peyton gets a new contract soon though.

I think the main question to those who saw it is.....Does he still have his patented stache?

Peyton Manning is the highest-paid NFL player as long as you include his endorsements. $30.8 million total earnings (9th among US athletes, $15.8m salary/$15m endorsements).

Right, if you include everything, not just salary. Salary alone and he is not even in the top five.

Yet I dont think the highest paid defensive player is from Tennessee like he said, I believe its Peppers isn't it?

Well, no other NFL player is even close to his endorsement earnings so I'm not sure I'd nitpick it if I were putting together a recruiting portfolio. Terrell Suggs makes $24.9m (19, $24.9m/$0.0m) and Albert Haynesworth makes $24.6m (20, $24.6m/$0.1m) so Haynesworth needs to stop being lame and get a shoe contract or something.

Well... that wasn't what was said.

The original comment was implying highest paid contracts in the NFL.

In other words, you're the one nitpicking.

What Crompton has that you cannot teach is a live arm,, if anyone saw Brady Quinn with the Broncos vs Tebow, you can see the arm Tebow has vs Quinns which was a slow delivery and a slow velocity vs Tebows sharp and speedy throws. Crompton has a great arm. Now his head is
another matter and if it gets right, he will have a career in the league.
