Nice find. I liked the Coach O video also. Too bad it stopped in the middle of the interview though.

Thanks for the link. I hope Crompton can show he's been "working his butt off" and be a competent QB for us.

In the Coach O interview, he sure doesnt try to hide the fact that he may take the first HC job that comes his way. If we have a successful year this year (8-9 wins) I think he is as good as gone to somewhere else as a HC.

I think he is best suited as a DC/Position coach. HC is might be what he sees is his future. He owns the previous positions, and will be compensated as well as a HC wherever he wants to go. Ala Monte.
Thats why I think he stays as long as Lane does.

I thought Crompton did a good job in the interview. His interview video was pretty long.

The video of McElroy, Bama's QB, was much shorter.

Coach O has said that he will only take a head coaching position if it's "the right one for him."

I bet he stays with Lane for at least 3 years. He doesn't want a repeat of what happened with Ole Miss. I think he wants to continue with a prestigious program, and not try to build one like he had to do at Ole Miss.

I doubt any AD worth anything will hire Ogre unless he becomes a coordinator here (or somewhere else) first.

Yeah, Coach O pretty much threw his hat into the ring for another college HC job.

Ole Miss was probably too hasty in firing him, IMO. He certainly did a good job of recruiting -- significantly upgrading the player talent level there. Ole Miss was actually quite competitive in most games during his last season there, even though they lost so many of them.

The improvement was showing, just not in the number of wins yet. He might have been able to achieve just as much or more success the next season that Nutt did, but he didn't get the chance. It sounded like he was aiming to subtly get that message across at the beginning of the interview, without saying it outright.

Keep an eye out on Miami and Georgia... he will be a head coach again somewhere in the next 2-3 years. Mark it down.

If Lane does turn it around and we are perenial winners again, I see him staying out of his loyalty and love for the Kiff's. Would be nice to see some cohesiveness in a staff for years to come.

that female reporter must have felt embarrased when asking about a game LSU had circled on their schedule...she didn't even know who she was interviewing. that was some funny stuff.

Just curious why you mentioned Georgia as a possible destination for Coach O as a HC.

Richt came to UGA with no prior HC experience and has won big there, consistently. The level of consistent continued success achieved by Richt is rare. Richt loves it there and UGA would be absolutely insane to run him off -- especially to turn around and replace him with someone with no major HC success like Orgeron. Not dissin' Coach O, just sayin' that would be insane, IMO.

Interesting vid, i hope he is successful, it was hard watching Crompton fail and be benched last year.
He sounds like he had humble pie last year. Not a bad thing. I wish he'd not say "uhhh" in interviews though.

Like how the camera was taping the blond in the background midways through

Richt is a skinny Fulmer minus the NC. Just watch.

+1

It was supposed to be Richt's year last year, and with Tennessee about to surge and the fact that Florida should stay at/near the top for a while, I don't know when the next UGA year will be.

The fact that Richt pulled a ballsy move like he did in the Cocktail Party tells me, well, he's got a little more moxy, wild man in him than Fulmer.

As far as under performing, yes.

Coach O needs to chill out on the head coaching thing...if he does well at UT he will get paid and not have to deal with all the BS that comes with being a HC.
