I realize it has only been one half of football, but for everyone who complained about Crompton here's your chance to apologize. Some prior posts...

- Stephens will be named the starter over Crompton
- Can't wait to see his first pass into the turf
- Kiffin will yank him after he throws his first interception
- He doesn't know how to look off the defenders
- Stares down his intended receiver
- The offensive strategy will be all run plays to keep Crompton from making mistakes

Feel free to add more as I'm sure I haven't captured everything that was said. Admit it... with the exception of a tipped interception Crompton has had an excellent first half of football. So those who have been "doggin" him since spring, please feel free to just post below with a "."

I apologize. I accidentally gave him too much credit. I see a lot of delusion on this forum

He played a great first half against Western Kentucky. That's really all you can say. I'll reserve judgment until after the first three games.

Dont forget we are only play WKU. I wanna get my hopes up & give Crompton credit but this what he is suppose to be doing to teams like this.

My point exactly... judgement should have been reserved for game play. Too many fans didn't seem willing to give him a chance.

That's true, BUT against teams he was supposed to do it against last year things like this just didn't happen. Our QB has confidence folks, and it can be contagious

Crompton looks more relaxed. He is looking off receivers and looking extremely accurate.

WKU or not...he should be fine if he is given time to throw against anyone if he keeps this up. I am impressed.

I always felt like the blame should have been put on the coaches for last year. He is getting coached up, and should do well.

True.... He has not been blitzed at all. I'll say I'm sorry when he shows how he reacts when someone is in his face.

Please . I guess that's why they spend the first 2-3 games each year on the road playing money games.:lolabove:

They went to and beat UCLA in a bowl game not that long ago. They have SOME talent, unlike WKU, which is still comprised mostly of 1-AA talent. Wyoming would beat WKU by 3-4 TDs.

Yeah and last year when he fumbled he would have panicked and threw a pick. He stayed cool and delivered a strike

easy....like others have said...it's WKU. Other than the good read on hitting quinton hancock for the 9 yrd TD....he hasn't done anything too spectacular. He's shown good arm strength (we all know he can throw hard and far) on some WR screens throwing across the field...and he hit hancock for a 20 yrd'ish gain...but he was wide open.

Trust me...I hope this is the sign of good things to come like everybody else. But I just can't honestly say he's done a ton that tells me he'll do well against the gators, dawgs or bama. He still seems to lock in on receivers and throw to his #1 choice...not many check downs due to weak WKU defense.

So i'm excited...but I'll withold crompton judgement until after UF. Either way...I'm excited as hell with the way the game has gone so far!!

It's hard not to be impressed with Crompton thus far, and if he looks this good against Florida I will give him all the credit in the world. Until then, I hope he continues to improve.

I'm absolutely fine with silence... just don't like fans bad talking their starting QB until they've seen him play under the new staff

Way, way, way to early. This is Western KY. He still seems to missing part of "it". Hopefully he'll continue to improve. He's not a QB to win you titles. Get to a bowl maybe, but not win titles.
