Even if he did make a change we wouldn't know untill our first possesion Sat. CLK wouldn't announce it to the world for UF to game plan.

Crompton will start and play the whole game. Let's hope for the best because it could be his last time.

This is his last chance. Stephens will be in to start the Ohio U game next week if Crompton flakes out again.

If he is still starting Crompton after I know he has seen film of him from last years debacle....then we truly must be screwed at the QB position.....Crompton looked exactly like last year in the UCLA game as we know....So I would have to trust his judgement along with the rest of the staff the he is the best we have...and thats pathetic...We have a LONG way to go to rebuild our house....

Having said that the arm chair QB in me says to start the lowest guy on the pole who will be here the longest and just let him play through all the pains of the SEC and get some needed experience...

why do people think this is cromptons last game? Pretty obvious that Crompton is better otherwise he wouldn't be starting.

Do you really think Kiffin will accept Crompton throwing the game away again with 3+ INT's? Not a chance...

Does he really have a choice? Wouldn't Stephens be playing if he was better? It was a open competition in fall camp, Crompton won it. He's the best we got, its going to be a long year.

This is smart, UT aint gonna win this game no matter who starts. If Stephens came in and got drilled and rattled we would have 2 QBS with zero confidence. Let Jon take it on the chin, start Nick Stephens against OHIO and treat the Ohio like a second opener. Get some confidence instilled in Nick and prepare him for Auburn, UGA, etc. He can earn the starting job for next year with semi efficient play or can show us Bray is a lock for a starter.

Since Stephens can't beat him in practice who knows how many he'd throw. Do you put Stephens in and just say 'why not'?

Call me a crazy dreamer, but I just have the slightest hunch that this weekend's game will bring out the best in Crompton & the rest of the team. I've been watching UT play for many long years now and have often seen it happen that when all the suposed "experts" totally count out the Vols like they are doing this week Tennessee usually plays well. That's not a universal truth but I can't help but remember the SugarVols game vs. Miami in '85.... NOBODY gave us a chance in hades of winning that game. Same thing again when we played Georgia two years ago at Neyland. Again with the 'Canes a few years ago... We've prven the experts wrong before and I'm just crazy enough to think we can do it again. This whole "revenge" angle (and the accompanying 28.5 point spread...) will blow up in Florida's face.

I won't say anything other than...I REALLY hope you are right not only about Crompton but the whole team playing well.

I tell you what, if NS is worse than JC, then NS needs to caugh up his scholly so we can get someone else. We don't need scholly QBs that never have a prayer of seeing the playing field.
