If Crompton really is still the starter then Stephens and Coleman must be putrid

“It brings out the best in me and I have every confidence in the world in myself that I’m going to be fine and I’m still going to be the guy,” Crompton said Sunday night.

atleast somebody has confidence in him!

He has to say that. Hopefully he is great the rest of the season, I just don't see it happening. He had his shot, give the other guys a chance.

I wouldn't suspect that he'd just step aside and give up the job. If he did or said anything short of what he did, he'd lose the respect that he's gained from his teammates. Assuming that there is any left.

It doesn't matter who starts against NIU. Fans will be happy to see Stephens, but they'll both play and it's obviously not a good barometer to test your ability. Hell, Crompton even showed some signs of life against UAB.

I am not a Crompton fan by any stretch, but I had to feel sorry for the poor guy having to play in front of Peyton Manning.

well, one characteristic that Fulmer probably likes in Crompton is that he is incapable of dwelling on past mistakes.

i had all the confidence in the world in crompton.. I was one who called for him last season..

but his play so far is unacceptable... It shouldn't even be a competition.. Stephens should start.

Why not take a risk.. It's not like the season can be saved..

I know a quarterback has to be confident in himself and stay positive..
but to play that bad.. and act as if nothing is wrong it arrogant and stupid..

makes me want him gone more..

well, one characteristic that Fulmer probably likes in Crompton is that he is incapable of dwelling on past mistakes.

That's because he appears to have a bit of an ADHD problem. It's one thing to be able to shake off what happens, it's another to pretend that you aren't aware of what you did wrong.

The scholarship that UTK provides and the opportunities down that road rate better than a thick skulled open mouth breather who is performing at the same level as a hs QB, then to add insult to injury after he stinks up the stadium, with his keystone kop performance runs his pie hole talkin bout what he's gonna do, capable of, or on his list. Crompton out...next!

Fulmer still hasn't figured it out. The "open competition" should be between Stephens and Coleman. Crompton has already left no doubt that he cannot get the job done. He should now move to the emergency quarterback to only be used in the rare event that every single other player on the team is injured and unable to play QB.
