Yeah I was talking bout McCoy being a winner because of Texas being great

Did you miss the entire season a couple years ago that McCoy led the team in passing and rushing yards?

You guys are forgetting one huge thing. Crompton is a practice superstar and scouts this time a year tend to over draft people based on great workouts. Crompton will impress in his workouts no doubt and I could easily see him going second round. He could possible slip into the late first round.

Clausen will probably go first. Bradfords injury will drop his stock.

Crompton can make the throws, is huge and will transition well to the NFL and given time under an OC and Pro coaching he could be special.

Depending on how good he works out, we could almost see 3 Vols go in the first round....

Unlikely since I think hes destined for the second round but I do see Hardesty and Williams gone in round 1.

I wish I had your optimism

He's the QB of course he's going to lead the team in passing yards. Rushing yards they didn't have a good RB though if i remember right.

Tough mentally, yes. I think he's probably a fairly smart kid also. But qbs have to have the ability to think very, very quickly, and this is not what he's good at. It's why they had to cut down on the progression. I'm not knocking his mentality, not many people can scan a field in a sec or two tops and assess whether a rec is open. That's a rare gift.

This would be my biggest concern for Jon as well. The NFL game is fast.

This seemed like Shuler's toughest challenge and Heath showed no signs of weakness in college (although rumor was that 'processor speed' contributed to a delay in seeing him on the field during his Frosh year at UT). But overall, Heath was an awesome college QB and was beloved by UT fans during his years on the Hill.

yes. You can be very smart and still not think and process a ton of visual data quickly. Preparation can go a long way toward "slowing down" the game, but if you have some problems with that at the collegiate level and you are a hard worker, I doubt your going to have much success in the league.

From what little I remeber, they did a good job with shular of giving him a couple routes to look at and creating some space to allow him to move around and possibly run.

I see the sportswriters point, but the pro scounts rank them on their physical abilities not on their college stats. Otherwise Tebow we would be ranked #1.

This article is saying that Crompton kind of sucks, and the sporting news is full of ****. So I'd say it balances out.

NFL scouts are full of crap. I'm convinced that half of them never actually watch college football games. You go to the combine, do stuff that displays incredible potential in the decathlon, and get picked high in the draft, even if you can't actually play football worth a sh*t.

Remember Jeff George, Courtney Brown and Aundray Bruce, all busts who shot way up the chart based on their combine numbers? Or a counter-example: Emmitt Smith dropped to No. 17 in the 1990 draft because he only ran a 4.7 in the combine. Blair Thomas was just soooo much faster than he was... :eek:lol:

Cromptons always been better than it apeared. The fact is our wide receiver play really sucked the last 2 years. I dont even think those WR's couldve made Peyton look good.

When i read the article I thought he meant crompton was overrated, after the tx vs nation game hype he had, and he is to inconsitent with his passes.

Hey guys, I really don't see Crompton going that high but here are some facts:

1) He had to play under four different systems.
2) He didn't have the elite talent that the other Quarterbacks in the draft had, furthermore not even close to the talent.
3) His arm strenghth is stronger than any other QB in the draft, which could impress the scouts.
4) He has nothing to lose but a hell of alot to gain.
