Crompton QB thread (merged a lot)

You are just plain wrong. You must have played for Fulmer. Foster never got the ball, Crompton made a half ass kind of toss to him. You are clearly taught as a tailback to not reach out for the ball, let the ball hit you in the gut. Keep your eyes on the running lanes. That fumble was all Crompton.

right. thats exactly what im saying. you open you arms and accept the ball, not reach, accept. it is kinda hard to accept the ball from the qb when you arms are 6 inches apart and you elbow hits the ball first. look at the tape then come back with something better.

no, it hit his elbow, just as foster motion to his elbow after the play, because his "pocket" was not open to receive the handoff.

It only hit his elbow after Crompton had let go of the ball. Get off it man, you are wrong. The ball was out of Crompton's hands before Arian touched it.

What does it matter? Both of them are at fault if you want to put it into perspective. They both are better at losing games than winning games.

you are right. im just trying to allow blame to be placed where it should be. as i said, many things that are wrong right now go through our qb position, but this is not one of them.

You've got a running back that's been in college football for five years and a quarterback who's been in it for four years. Neither should have any problem with a simple exchange.

no, you are wrong, i have seen it replayed multiple times now, how about you? and this is not a pissing contest and should not be made into a personal attack on anyone. but Crompton is still not at fault here.

True. That pretty much says it all.

I'm dumbfounded with Crompton's ability to play football. He looks completely lost and unable to compete in the SEC.

Crompton couldn't play AAAAA high school ball. WTF Fatboy recruited this schumck is beyond me. Ahem - coaching tip. Pat Summit has a point guard who isn't fulfilling their potential. Her action? Bench and put in someone who will execute to their potential and run the offense. Maybe Fatboy could look across campus and learn something? Lemme count. Fatboy, 1 national championship via a gift from Arkansas. Summit, 7 trophies and she's not done yet. Ummmm.....

After becoming a little more rational as I've cooled off a bit I've still came to the conclusion that I'm boycotting watching/keeping up with UT until I hear that Crompton is riding the bench where he belongs. You can call me a fair weather fan or whatever you want but I can't stomach watching this team with him as the QB. And it's sad because I really feel for the defense and also think that perhaps the offense could be productive if they had a QB who could do anything.

You are the very definition of a fair weather fan. I'm disgusted too, but to say that you're not going to watch or keep up with the team?

Enjoy hockey season.

Your qb is the worst in history!! Sit him down and play someone else!! How hard is that to get thru your head? Are you tring to lose on purpose?

Crompton didn't look the ball into Arian's arms. Arian has been getting handoffs for four years now. His job is to see the lane and be ready to make a read - not to worry about whether his QB is going to give the ball to him or the defense.

Hell, Peyton was there...... why didn't they suit him up?:eek:hmy::eek:hmy::eek:lol: He made the remark there were a few bonehead plays... YOU THINK???????

GO VOLS........
GO BIG ORANGE ...

Ive been watching Tennessee football since Johnny Majors was coaching and so far this is the absolute worst quarterback I have ever seen. Despite all the times fulmer chews him out on the side line he seems as if his simple little mind just doesnt understand what the heck he is talking about. He just sucks and thats the bottom line. We have some very talented recievers on the field and nobody to throw them the ball. We cant expect Arian Foster or Monterio Hardesty to win all our games on the ground. If Fulmer doesnt bench this idiot qb of ours i fear it may be his last season as coach of the Volunteers

Well, I said it first last week, and I'm going to say it again. Time to sit Crompton. There is no way he possesses the talent to compete in SEC. If you want Fulmer gone, you better stay away from Neiland Stadium next week. Then again, if you want to see at least 1 more win this season, you better go next week. It's our last chance...

Arian has a nice record for stickin' his fingers in a can of Crisco before the game....

The good news is finite eligibility.:mf_surrender:

You call me what you want - I know how much time, money, and energy I've spent cheering for UT. If Crompton is out I'll gladly root like hell like I've always done. This is a forum to share opinions and that's my opinion right now. You have a right to call me whatever you want as well.........this QB play physically is making me sick. If they at least TRY to do something different at that position I'll gladly continue to support this team. I know as long as he's the moron under center there's little hope - and I don't like feeling like I would like to maim our QB so as long as he's in I won't be watching.

This is one question I wish some sports reporter would ask Phil point blank on live TV. You can't tell me this IS the number one question right now on the minds of all in Vol Land. I honestly think Phil has lost it on this just like Crompton has lost it being a full time QB.

Volzilla

aj actually had some accuracy to his passes. he could put up decent numbers but never could win the big games. suggs actually started for ga tech for awhile after he left ut. he is nowhere near as bad as crompton is right now.

yes, i know but the comparison would be made to while he was still here (so no part b b/c crompton could very well transfer to ariz st. and light it up there or something, stranger things happen) and though while i'll agree to the accuracy thing, suggs had a pretty poor record starting for us too before he got replaced by clausen

Whomewver is to blame, I do not remember a college offense looking so inept week in and week out.

I agree. Hearing Fulmer say that Crompton wasn't playing poorly headed into the locker room at halftime is even more proof that he has completely lost his grip on reality.

Can you imagine what the announcers were thinking after hearing Fulmer say this after they had spent an entire half of football trying to be "professional" about saying this QB is terrible.

I really wonder what you guys think. Honestly, Is Fulmer just stubborn or does he really think Crompton had a good first half? I am still amazed that he said that at halftime.
