Crompton Named Starter, No Green Jersey

obviously i think Fulmer knows full well that it's blatantly obvious Crompton should be named the starter for him to be making this decision already. But even as minor as his post spring practice surgery is supposed to be, I'm nervous that's he's already named the starter.

It also tells me Coleman and Stephens are liabilities as second stringers in case something goes wrong.

another part of me thinks Fulmer just wants to completely avoid the confusion and angst of '05 and get the decision done with. That might not be a bad idea.

There should only be confussion if all qb's are playing at the same level. If that is the case, CPF should not designate a starter until one shows his talant is better. Maybe he feels Cromp is that person.
Just because he makes the decision doesn't mean the confusion and angst of '05 won't still show up.

OK so Cromp's the guy. I only know what I've heard, he's big, strong and can throw the ball, so I'm willing to wait until Sat. to see. Maybe when the smoke clears we will have a qb to lead us through a good year, whoever that may be.

Cromp :boxing2: BJ :boxing2: Nick :boxing2: someone else

I'm going to tell you right now. Crompton has guts. You won't see a scared, timid QB this year under center. He may not be the best but he will fight 'til the end.

Is all this uncertainty regarding our qb reminiscent of when Tee took over for Peyton? :eek:hmy:

Baring Injury Jonathon Crompton will be the QB at the University of Tennessee through the bowl game played in January 2010.

Bank on it.

You can never say that for certain when it comes to riding the pine under the Fulmer era. Using that logic, Jamal Lewis was a liability to open the season in 1997.
