Crompton Named Starter, No Green Jersey

Yeah, but the whole point is that it's the controversy between the coaches that really matters. No matter who we had starting, there would be some contingent of fans who thought the 2nd stringer was better. That's just the nature of the beast. If there is a unified decision between the coaches, whatever controversy the fans work up won't affect the performance of the team.

And even if no one hears it, it still falls. Even if no one watches the team, coaches openly disagreeing over who the starting QB is will affect a team's performance. All I'm trying to say is that the fans alone are not what causes a team's play to drop.

Yes...what is between the coaches is what matters, no dispute. This is a fan message board so we discuss things. No on on this board has the power to fire Fulmer, yet the topic of him retaining his job is a constant on here.

Whether Fulmer is correct is what remains to be seen. I still remember Brandon Stewart and Manning swapping time in games.

No doubt, we've gotta have something to help procrastinate during work and kill time during the off season.

We will definitely find out soon enough whether he was right or not. As long as we win, I don't really care who starts. I think JC will do a good job though.

It's also possible that a coach with a winning percentage as high as Phil could just maybe have made the right decision.

a decent winning percentage doesnt mean you are incapable of terrible decisions. the examples are too numerous to list, but have you watched the two winningest coaches in college football play lately?

If he is such a gret decision maker, why hasn't he won the conference in nine years and counting?

:hi:This is my first time on VolNation but I have been a UT fan for many many years.
Anyone know if the scrimmage tomorrow is open to the public?
From what I have heard, Cromp is a leader on the team. We needed a designated leader going into the O/W game and more importantly a leader after the game to carry us through the summer, into fall. Next saturday will rally the team for the work that is front of them if Cromp plays like I believe he is capable.
CPF has made his choice and we have to live with it, for now, and support our VOLS.

I going to wait and see what happens in the spring game before I throw my lot in with Crompton. Just don't trust that decision maker enough, I guess.

In our leader I trust. :alien:

In that text, He hasn't given us anything on the football field in 9 years. When things are not going well, most people will ask for help. Maybe CPF will get council from his new coaching staff. Not that we know a lot about them, but at least it might be a change of perspective.

I want to see Coleman, Iam really not sold on Crompton but I will gladly eat my words if he beats florida and bama this coming year!

I know you said Cromp but ,as players go, it doesn't matter if it's Cromp, BJ, or Nick They are going to do their best. It is the coach that you need to be able to trust that he is going to play the best. We may not be there yet.
