Statistics schamtiks be damned... Nobody since Casey graduated could make those kinds of throws as regularly as Crompton, and the Iceman was nowhere near as mobile as JC.

I'm not saying he's as good as Casey (or as consistant as Ainge was his last 2 years), but I am in awe of the type of plays this kid can make.

Damn you Cutcliffe, Fulmer, and Clawful for the way you guys screwed this kid's head up. AND Thank you Reaves, Lane, and Chaney for having faith in him.

Went from my least favorite player to my new favorite. He has really put it all together. Insane turn around.

I really wonder who turned him around-Kiffin or Reaves or Chaney or just anyone in the coaching staff believing in him? I would have never thought in a million years he would go from what he was to what he has become. Insane turn around indeed.

Crompton's struggles had The Fired Coach's greasy fingerprints all over it... glad to see him performing well to end his career at UT.

He is simply amazing now... just imagine what he could do with another yr. Maybe we can redshirt him due to coaching ignorance from the previous staff. :D

He could apply for a 6th year on account of insanity caused by the Clawfense and the Fulmer Clap

I cant believe the turn around. I was one of those who wanted him off the field in a bad way. Guess that's why I don't coach football for a living huh?

My dad was a successful high school football coach for 38 years. He always said you have to treat your QB different from everyone else as far as getting in their heads. No matter what you have to keep their confidence level up and not ever let them get down. I guess this group of coaches, as opposed to the last, have truly believed in Crompton and let him know it. He's a different kid out there.

I was waiting to see if someone started a thread about Crompton's progress because I was going to if nobody else did.

I am just in awe of how well Crompton has done despite all of his early struggles and adversity.

I am also amazed at Crompton. I was definitely a JC hater and scratching my head at why the staff kept him on the field for the first 5 games.

So he proved me wrong.

Now that he has made the turn, what do you think his NFL future looks like? I am afraid he waited too late to make an impact in the draft at all. But he might get pulling in the late rounds eh?

It's a combination of a few things.

1. Crompton playing better and not letting mistakes get him down.
2. Coaching by Kiffin, Chaney, and Reaves.
3. Play calling to call the best plays for Crompton like rollout passes, etc.
4. The health of G. Jones and D. Moore and better all round receiver play. Don't underestimate the affect that those two injuries had on us at the beginning of the year.

<--Displaced Buckeye, former Raiders fan (I gave up on the NFL when Al Davis fired Lane).

I went to the first half at the stadium tonight, Crompton looked solid, even after the facemask.

Last year someone drops a pass and his game goes to crap. What Lane and his staff have done with team far exceeded my expectations... It's going to be fun watching what he does next year...

crompton came up 1 short of the UT record for consecutive passes without an INT... boob jinxed him by citing the stats about 2 minutes before the int!!!! Casey holds the record...

Wes Brown is still the man for me ... but Crompton is really close!

Not that there is anything wrong with that ... :)
