I thought most young atheletes got hit with FCA in high school.I guess Crompton wasn't in to that when he was in high school.I was in 9th grade when I joined FCA.

I think this is great for Crompton. With the struggles he has had, and all of the negative comments that have been directed at him, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this decision didn't provide him with some much needed comfort and perspective.

That's Awesome. Temat keep your own opinions to you self!

you say "that's awesome" yet you criticize someone else telling them to keep their opinions to yourself. your post was you entirely expressing your opinion, but when someone expresses a different opinion you believe that they shouldn't be able to do so. Get over yourself, hypocrit

I don't think the point is really that Jesus helped us win, just more or less that his priorities may be in order now. I think it is very safe to say Jesus didn't help him make great passes, but he may have calmed his nerves and definitely helped his confidence or helped keep him calm. Always worked for me. When I saw him at the walk I thought good things may be ahead, I am happy for him. He deserves good things.

Go Vols

I think it's foolish to say that NOW his priorities are in order simply because he might have "found" religion. There are plenty of people in the world who aren't religious. It is stupid to suggest that people without religion don't have their priorities in order. Religion is not a requisite to being a mature and good person. Contrarily, many people use religion as an excuse to call themselves a good person when they in fact aren't.

I am glad he gave his life to Jesus, but I sincerely doubt that the Lord cares one way or another who wins football games. Maybe it has allowed him to put things in perspective and thus allowed him to settle down. But, other than that, I don't believe He is helping Crompton make his progressions.

Good point, why would God care about some game or help one team beat another? That's just goofy. I'm sure it helped the Crompdaddy get his head straight and hopefully focus on the team as a whole instead of his own individual stats.

Very well put. Some people use religion as a crutch so to speak, while others don't require it to live a happy, fulfilling life. All of the nonreligious people i've met have always been very kind and caring people while many of the religious people i've met here in the south are quite the opposite. Sure, they're good people in their minds. But the stuff that comes out of their mouths about people different from themselves is absurd. Religion teaches hate against one another

Lots of people claim to be christians, going to church does not make you a christian. As far as religion teaching hate, that is absurd. That goes against everything in the bible. I have met plenty of so called christians who take scripure out of context and twist it to suit their need. For those who have posted negative comments pertaining to Crompton finding salvation. You are entitled to your opinion, it does not anger me, it saddens me to what this world is becoming. As a christian I pray for peace, wisdom and strength.

Muslims hate Christians, Christians hate Muslims. Religious people look down upon nonreligious people and think it is their "mission" to persuade them. That is proof that they find them inferior. I'm a religious person for certain reasons, but I'm intelligent enough to realize the truths in the world, whereas others choose to be blind to it due to insecurities with their own beliefs.

I don't think anyone here doesn't want peace, wisdom, and strength. The difference is that some of us pray for it and others of us hope for it. I don't see that there is that much of a difference between hoping and praying.

If Crompton is happier with religion and it helps him be a better person then it is a good thing for him. I haven't seen any negative posts about Crompton or whatever it is that makes him happy. The negativity seems towards this thread and its devolution into pure evangalism.

I fear there are going to be some really disappointed people when they perish.

I was just trying to share a little info. I'm happy that JC has found a higher purpose. I repeated exactly what I was told. No one insinuated that Crompton's arm was one with God. My reference to his play on Saturday was nothing more than repeating a light hearted comment from one person to another. It's no different than the thousands of Tebow comments that we all make here. Now that it involves a Vol, suddenly the the reference can't be made in jest? Sad.

I did not mean for this devolve into bashing of any one thing or another...although, with the maturity level of some on this board, I should've seen it coming. It is unbelievable how ignorant we (fan base) can be. I'd appreciate it if a mod would just delete this thread. Those who got the point understand and are happy for the kid. Those that didn't might be the ones who have tortured the guy and embarassed us all. I'll probably never call him a good QB, but he's obviously a good person to put up with all of our (fans) crap. I obviously overestimated the intelligence of some.

Again, I apologize.

As a Christian, it absolutely does not explain a good game... perhaps a change in his mindset, but God's not going to start completing passes for him. As a Christian, I lost 29 out of 30 of my highschool games. I believe that 'splains it all.

Did you go Sullivan Central?Or North Greene maybe?:)

How does this...
According to the gentleman, Crompton accepted God a few weeks ago. The man said that he and Cromp had been talking and that he had been praying for JC for a while (as he had obviously gone through some rough times). Well, last Saturday before the UGA game, the two shared a prayer. Apperantly, the Chaplain told JC that he really felt that God had some amazing things in store for him.

Lo-and-behold...

Looks like Tebow isn't the only QB with a divine edge! Well, the Lord wears Orange afterall!

...not insinuate that GOD is why he performed well?

Also, it is truly a shame that disagreement with your anecdote elicits comments about the intelligence, maturity & ignorance of those who don't share your beliefs.

When everything revolves around a single subjective 'fact', you have little tolerance for those who don't share your view.

I am glad that all of you who believe find solace in that. Good for you! I hope it makes your lives more fulfilling for you.

Why don't you clarify what "the point" is for us, just to make sure.

No doubt you hate anything to do with religion. No point would ever convince you.

If you're going to put words in my mouth, you can mold my opinion any way you choose. That's your prerogative - so be it.

Good for Crompton if it's what he wants. I'm just amused at some of the close-minded folks around here.
