Crompton Cut

Maybe he'll get picked up by the newly formed Tennessee Trash in the AFL. :) BTW, Crompton is still setting better than Ainge. Look where Ainge has himself at? Rehab clinic!

That's really unethical.

if he sucks he sucks, pro ball is about winning games, if he can't do it then he can't no need to feel sorry for him. He went thorugh "HELL" at UT but NFL is about winning. Obv. he can't cut it no need to pay him to suck. I saw him play a few quarter for SD and he was TERRIBLE. I love that her came from UT BUT I wouldn't pay him to throw picks for me either.

That's a bummer, and I'm sorry for JC. It looked like he had turned things around. Not a good week for 2009 Vols in the NFL.

That being said, I still have no idea how he got drafted at all. He just can't play at that level.

He couldn't play well at the college level.

If this news surprises you, do you really think you're qualified to critique anything that goes on at the UT Athletic Dept? He never was a very good QB. He always found a way to not take the blame for terrible play on his part.

Either way, it's still sad to see someone from Volnation make it and then get cut. I can't imagine how he feels.

Agreed, but that has little to to do with what I was talking about. Not sure why you quoted me...

I'm going to guess it is because he didn't read the link and thought you were saying that the Chargers were being unethical in how they treated Crompton....or he just quoted the wrong post.

I think he has all the physical tools. But with his mindset, I bet the NFL would eat him alive if he saw any consistent playing time. Maybe he catches on somewhere as a 3rd stringer or somebody's practice squad.

At least he can admit he has a problem.....where are Crompton can't accept the fact he can't play QB

I heard the Chargers were looking for quarterbacks that had good vision. Considering Crompton has never fully opened his eyes, he didn't qualify.

I wish he would have made it but it's hardly surprising he didn't. I thought people around here were jumping the gun a bit when he signed a contract with the Chargers; the contract means nothing if he can't make the team. The fact that he even got drafted is a win to me after his UT career, taking the whole thing into consideration.

I'd say he will maybe float around trying to grab a 3rd string or practice squad spot. He possibly could play in the CFL; that league tends to have more mobile QBs so he could get a shot. There's also the UFL now, and supposedly the USFL is starting back up again next spring.

All of you negative posters are probably the same people who sent him death threats. Y'all should be ashamed because he gave everything he had for this university.

Feel bad for him.

I remember arguing with a handful of people though that he'll be a late round pick at best and probably won't make a roster. They all argued that he'll make a roster and possibly start. Almost feel like digging up the post but there is a Vol game on and I'm not exactly happy that it didn't work out for him. I'll leave it alone.

Go Rocky Top!
