Considering Crompton may be the starter for the long haul, I was wondering what the record for interceptions thrown in a season was. Wiki says the answer is:
# Most Passes Intercepted Season - 34 - John Eckman, Wichita St., 1966

Crompton is on pace to throw 28, and god forbid we get to a bowl to up that average. A couple of extra bad games puts him in Eckman territory. Of course Eckman did it in a few less games.

The next record listed I thought was interesting:
# Most Passes Intercepted Game - 9 - John Reaves, Florida vs. Auburn, Nov. 1, 1969

Aside from the odd fact that this is our QB coach's father, how the heck can you throw NINE ints in one game?

Dude get over it. Crompdaddy did well today. Let it go. He's not a stud, but he's our guy. He's a true vol and we should support him. I'm sorry but I'm tired of the crompton hate.

I didnt criticize Crompton at all, just posted facts extrapolating his performance so far over the season. He played less bad today.

I don't care how badly JC plays this season, I don't see him coming anywhere near that record of 34. That simply WILL NOT happen. BTW, who cares? Support him, he is OUR QB and we all need to stay behind him. Forget all the negative crap like this INT record...

Just depends how many attempts Kif lets him through, I think Cromp is certainly capable. I hope he turns things around though. This was not a good game for him though. I don't know how you could say it was.

Amen over and over again. He is not great. Maybe not even good, but he is the best we have now so we need to get behind him. I don't think the WRs are helping him a lot and he gets all of the blame.

Why in the hell is Crompton even playing. Stephens was a significantly better QB than crompton last year. Crompton this year is the same guy as last year--bad. If Stephens is the same QB he was last year, he should be playing. PERIOD! Unless Stephens has REGRESSED, or something related to his injury has affected him, he should be playing. There is no way he could be worse than Crompton--no way! And he's junior: We need him next year! Crompton is a 5th year senior and the coach won't let him throw anything more than swing passes because whenever he throws it downfield...PICK! I don't get Kiffin with this...

Think how good we would be if Crompton never played again. We can only dream.

And you've been coaching how long?
You have one of the best staffs in college football. I think Chany and Kiffin have enough experience to pick the right starter for TN.

After a tune up with Ohio, the vols will flatten their next 2 opponents.

Get behind the kid or go pull for FLA. You'd fit in better there.

Crompton is our guy and it is what it is. The last two games show that it is all but certain that if Crompton throws it downfield it is going to be an interception or incomplete pass. I'm not bashing, just stating the obvious.
