"It's frustrating, but it's something to learn from," he said. "Nobody's going to be perfect every day. We're going to go back in here and watch this film and learn from it, and try not to make the same mistakes again."

Is he implying that he's been perfect on any other day? Has Crompton EVER been perfect? Has he ever been atleast decent? He should have said, "Nobody's going to be just ok everyday."

This guy has got to go, seriously, do something to get kicked off Jonathan, PLEASE!!!

Yea,I tend to cringe when he tries to explain "the reasons".I have stated often I hope the coaches can fix the way this guy thinks.

what did he say that is untrue? Hoping he does something to get kicked off the team is absolutely ridiculous. While you may not like his play he has done nothing to warrant that kind of crap.

Either the media seeks him out to get his opinion or he makes himself readily available. One of the two needs to stop or both.

Given what we know about Crompton I agree that this is no reason to lay the hammer down. Having said that, I do think I would rather hear, "If we are going to beat the Floridas and Bammers of the world it will require a perfect day from the QB position, and that is what we are striving for everyday in practice".

I think at this point there isn't going to be any changing him. He is what he is. Hopefully one of the other two will beat him out

he just rubs me the wrong way. i think in his mind he thinks he's a superstar or is going to be a superstar. i hope he is for everyones sake. but all the excuses and comments he made last year irritated me. Then during the florida game when we are down by 3 or 4 td's he scores on a qb sneak and he jumps up and is celebrating. i was like wtf are you doing, you wouldn't have seen any of the previous qbs doing that. then he got lit up later in that game and he talks smack. are you kidding me? again let me say I hope he turns it around, but my faith in Crompton is small

Some of you guys are rediculous, oh and UT"S#1Fan, c'mon thats a little uncalled for. Yes Crompton looked really bad last year, and hasn't looked much better this spring. But to ask him to quit or get kicked off the team is a little harsh. Also its not like we have a deep talent pool at QB. Just hang tight, and by the time we play Florida this QB situation will be straightened out. It is apparent that Kiffin and Co. Have no bias with these players, and all three QB's will be on a short leash. If he doesn't perform he won't play, but if you really want to be UT's#1Fan then try supporting those that wear orange instead of chastizing the ones who are having a rocky career.

I agree, but boy it is hard to forget the bounce passes he threw last year, or the failed handoff to Foster at Auburn. :cray:

Speaking of repetitiveness, I'd point out the existence of this thread. Crompton's not perfect, been there, done that. What do you expect him to say when a mic is shoved in his face?

Seriously. It's ridiculous to act shocked when a 21 year old speaks and doesn't say something eloquent. There are some things that I wish Crompton had said differently or not at all, but quit the whiny nitpicking.

JC will more than likely be the starting QB come fall.

I think we have a QB dilemma :)

Look, Crompton has made it very evident, it's him against the world, and yes, that's him against Tennessee fans too. Some of his quotes last year were obviously directed towards the UT fan base.

He heard the boo's last year, he's heard it from the fans, classmates, etc.... He's well aware of his faults. YET he continues to show little to no remorse for his actions, or take responsibility for his mistakes. He continues to drop these one liner excuse quotes and I’m over it.

He's a CANCER to Tennessee Football. I'd like to think I’m UT's #1 Fan, but until Crompton starts contributing to the University of Tennessee instead of hindering it, I’ll never be a fan of his.

much smarter football people (and probably just in general) are giving him a shot based on his abilities this year. Don't like it then just go start yet another Rod Wilks thread

Cut him some slack- he has learned for years to explain PP Performance with "work like heck" diatribe- remember- it worked for more than a decade for his first mentor/HC.

Hopefully the new regime will get his quotes and mind set straight- We can't take another year of every 3rd pass skipping, sailing, or going for a pick 6. Given his physical skills- you have to think its all mental.

Not to call you out but you left out some of Crompton's quote. He said nobody's perfect but that is what we have to strive to be. i know everybody is down on the kid because of last year but face it he is the QB and if you have faith in the coaching staff they are going to put the best player on the field.
