So Johnathon Crompton isn't the greatest QB to ever grace the Orange and White. No arguments. He's not Peyton Manning. He's not Eric Ainge. He's not Casey Clausen. Hell, he's not Rick Clausen. But he's our QB and the fact he gets boo'ed in his home, in our home, is deplorable. You don't crap on someone when they're down, especially if he's your own. When Crompton starts to slump, Neyland needs to scream. We, the crowd, need to lift him up. We need to become 100,000 motivators. He needs to know that whether he goes down the field for 90 yard drive or 4-and-out that the crowd is with him regardless. He's ours. He needs fan support not fan disapproval. Keep Neyland screaming and keep Johnathon's head in the game.

And a second note...

What's with the "oh, it's over" attitude? It's one game. One Non-Conference game. What kind of season did you think we would roll through after going 5-7? Were the Vols suppost to make a run at the National Title? Everyone hopes so. I'm not gonna deny it. We want it. We deserve it. It's not going to come to the University without fan support. So stop denegrating your QB. Stop rolling over and giving Florida the win. That game is as winable as any other on our schedule. The Florida Gators aren't invincible. Motivation and focus. It's life's secret formula.

Don't roll over, VolNation. Do your part for the Vols success.

Go Vols!

I appreciate your attitude, but to say that the UF game is as winnable as the Ohio game is really out there on the edge of the limb. People do need to relax and just enjoy the games for what they are...good Saturday entertainment provided by amateur athletes. It's hard to do but you'll all live longer or at least happier, healthier lives that way. GBO!

I can no longer stand the boo'ing threads. As much as we pay for tickets, we are able to boo if we want. If a division 1 athlete that is going to school absolutely free cannot take it, then get the hell out. 2 a days are tougher physically and mentally than being booed. Let it go.

ya people arent realistic, last time i check tennessee wasnt ranked in any pre season poles

I'm glad that it's the players that play and not you cause if it was some of the posters on this board we wouldn't even show up next week we would just let them take a default win.

Tonight as I was partying on the U of I campus, A man asked me for a light. I say sure, grab my lighter and throw it to him. He then takes it and keeps it. I asked him calmly to hand it back and he spit on me. I then asked again for the lighter calmly and he threw it across the street, and as I turned to look tackled me and started to punch me. The cops came around in like 10 seconds and threw him off me and mased him. He then blew a .000 and had nothing in his system.....

Just goes to show you people are Dicks on the inside. No matter where, when, or why. All of us have some sort of hatred for some people and it is ridiculous. So regardless of your opinion of whether to boo someone doesn't matter, but everyone in our situation deep down wants to boo him its just an argument of "What's Morally right?"

Like / agree with the attitude. It should be noted that many in the crowd were chanting "Let's Go Crompton" in the 4th quarter. Not all Boo Birds.

Sorry for your ugly evening, but the conclusion you drew was utterly nonsensical.

I don't know what we could've done differently but it sure did hurt a lot to see Crompton make those mistakes! I don't know what the view was on the field but it appeared that the picks were easy reads! Kiffin chose Crompton for a reason! I didn't see it last nite! Hopefully this creates a strong rebound to hit UF with! Yeah, we lost to UCLA, I wanna go down to UF and hit 'em in the mouth!

I don't think realism has anything to do with it! I think it is more opportunity and determination! Realistically we can't beat UF next week but we can go down there and rattle some heads! There is a chance/opportunity! They may very easily underestimate us cause of the UCLA loss but surprise is on our side! I'm ready! Might wanna be on the safe side and have Stephens readythough! I would like to see more BB too! I think we can surprise a lot of teams! Got it! Let's do this!

Kiffin fell into the same sinkhole that Fulmer and Clawson did with Crompton: thinking that his practice performances would translate into actual game performance. I think that is a frustrating thing to deal with, developing a game plan around a guy that looks more than competent in practice, and then seeing him totally fail on the field. Apparently Crompton is the biggest Jekyll and Hyde quarterback in history. He literally cost Fulmer his job (a good thing), and is now giving the current coaching staff a taste of a living nightmare.

I agree! Kiffin has got a big decision here! Start Crompton against UF or Stephens! Stephens hasn't got game time this year but I don't thik he can do worse than Crompton last night!

This is what we've become? How sad. I bet you talk in movie theaters too. Me, me, me. It's all about me. If you want to be seen as a knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing miscreant, fine! Go ahead and boo. I, for one, do not wish to be viewed that way. When you act that way you make everyone look bad, not just yourself. I guess you get your tact from Joe Wilson.

All the rats are leaving the ship before it leaves the dock. I am glad I don't have to go to war with some of these, where's my bottle people. We fans are part of the team. Look at yourselves in the mirror, and then decry yourselves for being a traitor to the team. If recruits are reading what the fans "think", which some are, they will think twice about coming to Tennessee because of how you turn on the team over one game. Give CLK and the team a chance to get better..They will you know.

English major after a semester of Joyce.

Is Kiffin that loyal or Stephens that bad?
