Disagree. I think we are or are teetering near being one of the elite teams in the conference; right there competing with Auburn & UGA to see who can sneak around and knock off the elite; i.e. UF and/or LSU.

.
so you disagree that we are like Ga of the 90's, but then say we are like GA and Auburn, "sneaking" up on the elite teams?

is it just me or does it sound like you DO agree????

I think the GA analogy of the 90's is probably closer to the truth than even my Ark. comparison.

you are certainly deserving of your guru status
:hi: i don't usually side one way or the other on the CPF argument. I can see points on both sides. but the reality is what it is...and while i think CPF has done wonders for UT, i also think that the past 3-5 years have been the result of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality. in 05 it broke. he's made changes to fix it. if it works, great. If not, thanks Phil, it was a great ride.

Again, I have to disagree. I think comparing us to the UGA of today is fair, given UGA's mini-slide last year.

UGA of the '90s was not even teetering on being elite. I know when I was in school, it was just expected that we would make them look stupid... and generally we did.

(thank you, Peyton, Todd, Jamal, and last, but by no means least, Mike Bobo)

I don't think any realistic fan of any SEC school would think that of UT.

To my recollection, they never beat anyone of substance in those years, with the exception of UF in '97. UT can at least manage to dope slap a legit team here and there, even in the course of a 5-6 season.

Apart from that, I find your posts to be spot-on and enjoyable, bub!
