Critics predict violence and deaths over CIA torture report

You live in the only country to detonate a nuclear bomb against people (twice).

How many need to die to satisfy the blood lust from 9/11? So far it's likely in the hundreds of thousands

I've seen this argument used before, but I've never seen anyone go further and say that it probably saved more lives than was destroyed. had they not dropped them and forced them to surrender the US was going to invade Japan. Can you imagine the ensuing carnage?

He is right though, torture does have limitations. And besides, the CIA know what information is worthwhile or not. A liar has to tell the same lie over and over and over, and it's easy to trip them up over time. But the real problem is what to do with the subject when it's usefulness as an intelligence source has expired. I wonder if the liberals reallllly know why King Putt hasn't closed Gitmo yet like he promised he would on day one of his abortion of a presidency. It's because you would have a bunch of really angry really motivated asshats out there that would devise an even grander scheme than 9/11. Nope. milk 'em then kill em and drop 'em in the sea. We don't have the stomach to do what we need to do to stop these "people".

and keep it on the down low

"...the Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn't necessary to hit them with that awful thing."

Probably so.....the only purpose of the second one was to send a message.

If I'm not mistaken, the conventional bombing raids that were carried out over Japan killed more people than both A bombs combined.

I believe you're right. The incendiary bombing was especially brutal

Some consider it torture, others do not. I'm sure some kids consider time out as torture.

The United States of America Government considered it torture until Bush/Cheney decided it was not.

If this report is released it will look extremely bad on the USA

Oh darn!

There are a few things I care what the rest of the world thinks about us.

1. We keep our word.
2. You f with us we annihilate you.
3. We are strong.

If the world thinks we treated some barbarians harshly, so be it. Next time you need us, we'll stay home.

I can only assume you been waterboarded several times and found no problem with it. Probably rolled off the table, adjusted your huge balls, and waved your American flag like nothing happened..

Your wife talking about me again? :dance2:

No I have not been water boarded. I wore a uniform and was a member of a recognized military force. If captured I should have had GC protections from such methods.

What do we do to anyone we interrogate that they find no problem with?

No, I'm taking the side of common sense. Looks to me the loons are against it.

You are aware the Republicans are fighting to not release this report and the Democrats are fighting to release it. It is their way of making Bush look bad, nothing more, a pure political move to embarrass a Republican at the expense of embarrassing the USA. Pure stupidity, imo.

I may have misread his post but I don't think hes talking about the reports.

Nevertheless, Secretary of State John Kerry last week asked the Senate Intelligence Committee to "consider" the timing of the release. Wasn't that a nice thing he did.

Completely stupid on the Dem part. The vast majority of Americans don't care how we treated terrorists. It's not going to make Bush look bad.

I wasn't but you have to remember Gramps is senile, so he gets a pass.

I knew what you were doing. I started this thread about the report being released, you were talking about torture in general, not the report.

The United States should be above our personnel torturing prisoners . We should go back to the good old days when we housed these people with some of "our allies" for a few days and let them politely interrogate the bad guys without us being around.

Torture by proxy is still torture. Might as well do it yourself to make sure it's done right.

Dude, liberals rarely use the actual word on here. The righties have a huge, throbbing hard-on for it.

You're right. They now prefer the term "progressive". That has a better connotation to it for the great unwashed because it means you are moving forward toward something better. Which is a blatant lie. But hey, it buys votes.... gotta give you that.

Because only one side buys votes... that's adorable.
