Criticism of the officials (merged)

Sadly, until Atlanta notices how bad the SEC refs are, the games will continue being dominated by the refs who think people tune in to watch them...

They outplayed UT...officiating was bad, yes, but still outplayed the Vols. I know they run a fast paced offense, but alot of the time they looked out of control and rushed too many shots.

I don't think it was exactly a secret that we have a limited post game, tend to live and die by the 3 and prefer to run rather than play half court basketball.
I think our post game has progressed reasonably and Tyler is one heckuva operator in the paint. Chism's soft but has gotten much better on the defensive end.

While the 3 is a potent weapon for us, we've begun to rely on it and TOs less and less because we don't have such a rebound deficit generated possession gap any more.

We're not well rounded a la KU and UCLA with the D to boot, but we're not the one trick pony that many paint us to be.

Last night, we had 4 of our horses lay an egg and we got our hats handed to us for it. Officiating style impacted the outcome, but wasn't the ultimate determinant.

Vandy played well enough to earn the win, and I'm not saying the officiating favored them or not, but the number of fouls was so bad that the game was just plain unenjoyable regardless of the outcome. It had no flow. My wife quit watching and went to bed she got so frustrated. I don't mind a tough loss, but it was just plain unentertaining. Oh, well, tough luck. Hope the boys get it back together for Kentucky.

We are not the only ones that thought the refs were horrible.

Kevin Stallings was interviewed this morning on Mike and Mike. He was asked about the exchange at half court with Pearl where it is clear that Stallings makes a comment and Pearl says I could not agree more.

When asked what he said Stallings said "Our lawyers would not like for me to say that on air but it was something about the number of fouls called and the game not having a very good flow as a result"

The Officials were not biased but it is ashame that two teams as good as those teams did not get a better crew from the conference. Both teams deserved better.

While I agree that is was bad on both sides and we didn't execute enough to be EXPECTED to win the game, that game was still very winnable. And just because an equal amount of fouls were called doesn't make the reffing equal. Answer me this. Who does it hurt more when the refs blow the whistle every time the game starts to get up tempo? Us of course. Bad calls aren't the only way that refs can strangehold the outcome of a game.

Is it too much to ask people on here to accept the lost like adults and stop blaming our loss on officiating? We lost because we could not shut down, nor slow down, Foster.

The officials were equally as awful on both sides. It is not the reason why we lost. I'm sure having only 2 field goals in 11 mins had nothing to do with it.

what the heck are u talking about?

I went back and watched the replay---there were several terrible calls against UT that would have made the difference in the game if called correctly.

I didn't need a replay to know that we missed more than three FTs, being the margin we lost by, equals make them and we win. We lost all on our own.
