Crazy playoff scenarios

I think it’s likely OSU drops to 5 but i think people are sleeping on just how bad that loss was for them. 9 point favorites at home without Michigan’s best player and they got absolutely nuked…. All while Notre Dame lost.

Bama has one more loss than them but both losses are by 4 points. Ohio State’s 1 loss was a shellacking.
Doesn't matter.

OSU has been living on the edge all season, if PSU didn’t turn into Vandy, OSU would have two losses now.

I’m not saying I’m an advocate for us to be top 4 and be in the playoffs. I am saying that there is no way Bama should be ahead of us. Period! Head to head is a tie breaker for all leagues. Why would it not be when it comes to rankings?
I might add that we blew LSU out and they lost to them but everyone seems to forget that

If it comes down to it, Alabama will get in ahead of us. Wait and see. That turd we laid against SCar really hurt us. Gives the committee an opportunity to open the door and shape the narrative. I know it’s not popular, but we won’t jump them at this point with both seasons being complete. The committee just won’t do it. Bama is going to be at #5, sitting in the catbird seat in the event TCU loses the Big 12 Champ game and/or USC loses the PAC-12 CG. And don’t be surprised if OSU only drops to 5 or 6.

CFP Ranking Prediction

1) UGA
2) Michigan
3) TCU
4) SoCal
5) Alabama
6) Ohio State
7) Tennessee
Bama should be at #7 and Tennessee should be at #5 or #6.

In our minds, yes. The way the CFP committee looks at it, the SCar loss was a bad loss to a not very good team by a large margin, so it dropped us further than had we lost to a top 10 by one or two points. I don’t know exactly how much weight the committee even gives to SOS. Regardless, never lose late on the season down the stretch and certainly don’t lose BIG to an inferior opponent. It’s gonna cost us.

Edit: I don’t think Bama should be ranked ahead of us even with our loss to SCar. We beat them head to head and beat the only other team they lost to by a large margin. They’re not giving us due credit for that.

Yessir and I have in many other post. Everyone thinks that our 1 bad loss negates all of our quality wins. I will bet money at the end of the day, if USC loses in PAC 10 championship, Ohio Star will be in with a better record than anyone else in the conversation with 2 losses…and they got embarrassed in their own stadium. And if you think back, when we was #1, all the talking heads kept saying the still thought Ohio State was the best team in the country, but our resume was just better. That alone should have us ahead of Bama not even counting the head to head and common opponents.

We lost by over 30 points to an unranked team. Only 2 teams we beat are currently ranked. Y'all have gone crazy. Name another time you ever felt a "contender" got beat by 30 points by someone and should be in the playoff. The answer is never

We have not lost to a team by 30+ points. We lost by 25 on the road to a SC team that was ranked in the top 25 the week before they played us.. and are currently ranked 20th. LSU lost by 27 to us at home and everyone considered them a CFP contender until last night. I'd argue what's the difference? Why does the national sports media AND so many TN fans discount the collective body of work of the season? OSU's metrics are nowhere near as strong as ours.

South Carolina beat Tennessee by 25. Just for randomness, Tennessee beat LSU by 27

Jimmy not usually right Hyams said this morning that Orange bowl was going ACC vs Big 10.

doesn't surprise me but I would have thought Jimmy knew that the Orange Bowl is contractually obligated to take the highest-ranked remaining team from the SEC/Big10/Notre Dame. Penn State is not leap-frogging TN. They may very well end up ACC/Big10, but if so it's because Alabama is in the playoffs and TN gets bumped to the Sugar.

Alabama is probably the better team than Ohio State, but I feel like the stats and metrics will have the Playoff Committee pen Ohio State as the #5 team come Tuesday.

Although that loss to Michigan was an embarrassment and the Buckeyes shouldn’t sniff the playoff field in my opinion.
