I have been pretty busy these past few months and as a result I have been slacking on my knowledge of UT football (and pretty much college football in general).

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of the basics such as the line-up, the key players to watch, any new coaches ect?

Thanks :)

Imagine a dumpster fire. Now, half the people standing around the dumpster fire is going to be put out. The other half are damn sure their house is about to be burned down by cross winds.

Bray got in trouble throwing beer bottles and something else, which I have already forgotten.

Oh, playing around on a wave runner.

again I'm kinda out of the loop so not sure I get your analogy just yet

Lets put it this way, something very interesting is going on in knoxville. There is so much change in coaching. One of our best players got the boot and our QB has a deservedly bad rap off the field.
We have some experience at key spots and much more talent than in the past 3 years at most.
Some people think we can make a run at the east, others think we will be looking for a new HC at years end.
Lots of talent, but also tons that is unproven.

AKA No one knows anything in truth. but we all love vol football

GOOD ... BAD

Bray is really talented.......noone behind Bray has shown much at the college level

returning lots of starts on Oline......returning lots of starters who couldn't run block last year

we have 3 NFL 1st/2nd round caliber WR's going into year......we lost one of those WR's

whole secondary returns........whole secondary returns

we have 2 potentially really good newcomers(jucos) on the DL.......were depending on 2 incoming jucos to be really good on the DL

DD might have made the best DC hire in the country........our DC has never been a DC before

schedule is much easier than 2011.......its still the SEC
------------------------------------
to sum it up - we could be really good if a few things fall in place or we could be mediocre and then be looking for a new coach - we shall see - my prediction is the former and were in for a 9 win season

OP - when I think of all the useless garbage threads over the past offseason, I conclude you haven't really missed a thing.
