Coyotes in the backyard?

Buy some hamburger meat, get a bow and arrow, and let the coyote come to eat in your backyard. Then stick him. Coyote problem dealt with.

Or do what OE says.
That would probably work, but I'd have to train for that. :) Maybe a crossbow?

I stand corrected, crossbows are legal in Va. This is such a strange state.

Really though, just get some hamburger meat, mix in a lot of rat poison or antifreeze and set it out.

This also works well if neighbors have bothersome pets.

I guess the best thing to do is just hire some trappers to come over and trap it. Then I can poke it with a stick.

Like I said before, I worry about my own pets eating that.

You have overlooked the obvious answer. Get him to chase you near a cliff, make a quick turn near the edge and watch the hilarity ensue.

Do you own an anvil?

Keep in mind where there's one coyote, there's probably a pack somewhere. They've eben there a while, you just didn't know it til now. And personally I'd order something from the acme Co. :p

I have the critters in my backyard here in North ATL along the Hooch...they got a cat of ours.
I hope that VA is better than GA in trapping them for you. GA wildlife agency said that they will not come get them until thes are aggressive toward people and that is always too late.
