Couple Things Being Reported...

You guys realize he wouldn't lose anything, right? If we paid him $100,000, he would still get $660,000+ from Memphis. I think Dooley might be the issue. But, he's going to collect that $770,000 regardless if he takes another job or not.

My mistake, I thought the other poster was saying if he got another job he would no longer receive the $754,000 or so from Memphis.

Which means he takes only a perfect fit job or waits til next year to see if one opens up. Memphis is hoping he gets a good one quick.

He'll have plenty of opportunities. I can't blame him for not coming to Tennessee right now.

Him being a good coach has nothing to do with how people feel about him personally.

He didnt get along with Martz at chicago either which wasnt good for his career.

That's hardly a first. Martz, almost assuredly, won't be back to Chicago after this season either.

I believe that is what he is saying, so you interpreted him correctly; he just made a mistake. Not a big deal.

No question. I would say he only takes a job at a select few places with the contract the way it is. He probably wants to stick it to memphis in some way as well.

He doesn't lose anything. You clearly aren't grasping what that means. He makes $770,000 from Memphis. If he gets another job for $200,000, he will make that PLUS $570,000 from Memphis. In other words, the exact same amount. He does not take a hit at all.

What does he gain, financially?

P.S. I liked your post. :)

Gotta chime in on this. I think it boils down to that the line is still not quite there, strength wise. Seen too many times they would get BLOWN back into the back.

I dont think the play calling is what it should be. They dont run enough power plays, they dont run enough mis-direction plays. Its too predictable. When other teams watch film on us, they know whats coming, or have a good idea. We also had a problem with RB's that didnt hit the hole. Ive never seen a RB that ran into the back of the line like we had this year.

YES, if falls on Harry, but from what I seen, he is teaching Technique, you noticed they didnt get alot of Holding calls this year. Thats VERY IMPORTANT. I also noticed that the guys didnt play with any heart or emotion. They are NOT MEAN. And you cant teach a player to be MEAN. They look weak, and gas quickly. Some of the guys just dont have the MOTOR to be a Olineman in the SEC.

Yall can get mad for me bashing the guys, but the truth hurts. These guys are SOFT rite now. But Harry is teaching these guys the correct things to be a good Lineman. Its up to the individual to take that and apply it in a game. It seems to me that they give up on blocks way to quickly also. In the Fla game, I noticed they blocked well initially, but gave up. You gotta hold them blocks. You gotta line up and let the guy in front of you know, that hes gonna have a HARD DAY, ALL DAY.

But, these guys are still kids, growing into their bodies too. Some guys have never been this strong and still need to get used to using that power. Just like I said about kids that come into the league. Great Rookie Lineman are few and far between. You have to adapt to the difference from going from college to the league. Well its the same from going from HS to College, maybe even bigger, because your used to dominating the other guy and now you have a guy that dominating you. I DONT CARE when people say, "these guys was 4 starts across the board". Take that crap and tell it to someone who doesnt know Crap about playing FOOTBALL. You can be a 5 star recruit and not be SH*T. Guys have got to come in a dedicate yourself in the weight room, EAT RITE, and LISTEN TO WHAT THE COACHES TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!

He don't want to get rid of everyone, has to have someone to blame next year on if he doesn't succeed.

He wants stability otherwise everyone including players can blame the change or the staff etc. IMO this should please the crowd that thinks DD's an idiot because he will actually have no excuses. He picked the staff and he'll have 3 full classes and a lot of junior players.

He doesn't gain anything unless he gets paid a salary in excess of his Memphis salary, which won't happen. So, he's going to make $770,000 if he sits at home and does nothing and he's going to make $770,000 if he takes an assistant's job somewhere.

I understand .... didn't mean to come off as arse.. I appreciate you imput

Can you explain that again please?

Lol just kidding.

I just don't think he will take a job that isn't a top 5 school this year under the circumstances unless he is the kind that can't live without working.

Oh, one more thing. When a team loads the box with 7-8 guys, why do we still run it? You got to check out of that. If a team is putting 7 in the box, you not going to run the ball, unless you have a BIG RB and a GREAT OLINE. WE DONT HAVE EITHER. Once again, Im saying the Play Calling HAS TO CHANGE. Use more sets, give a different look. When we threw the ball, we lined up usually in a 3-4 wide set. 80% of the time we threw the ball, then when we lined up in a "I" or Pro set, we ran the ball. Its not hard to see whats coming, especially if the other teams watch film.

So, to answer the question to why our team didnt run so well. We are too predictable, and they loaded the box on us.

That was my only point. He's got $2,262,000 in guaranteed income from Memphis thru Nov 2014. If I am him the only way I take a coaching job is if I end up adding to that number. Otherwise, I'm taking it easy for a while. Now if I could get a 5 year contract somewhere with the guarantees/buyouts such as are in CDD's contract then I'd just have to look at the overall numbers and see what my agent recommends.

I just don't think he trades what he already has for no gain unless of course he just can't stand to be away from the office every day. Again, JMO.

alot of that falls on Brays shoulder. he needs to do a better job of checking in and out of plays.

zero chance

It's quite possible with CJC calling the plays.

Jet sweep about 3 to 4 times a game and with a healthy Hunter, Rogers and Bray all playing, he will lean heavily on the passing game.

If Wilcox and Sirmon leave, Dooley might as well resign because his chances of surviving beyond next year will be almost nil.

Well dooleys our coach, gotta respect his decisions rather u like them or not. Alot of stuff goes on we dont know about behind closed doors, and dooley feels good with the coaches. On to the SEC championship dooley. GO VOLS!
