If this thread goes away with zero merit it will have been the mother of all troll jobs. The OP gets 5 stars for this one.
Or you could just shut up about it! You guys keep fanning the flames and are doing nothing more than perpetuating the problem! Your keeping it alive!Or how about you and your ilk stop spreading baseless rumors?
First post, I've seen in this thread already that my opinion doesn't matter because of that. Anyway...
Let me start by saying that I'm not a Tennessee and/or Butch Jones fan. I have no dog in this fight whatsoever.
I signed up when I first saw that this story had finally come to light. I'm personally not associated with the AD at Tennessee, but am with another side of it. I don't care if any of you believe me or not, I'm not seeking approval from any of you.
I'll just say this, those that are thinking that there's nothing to this story are unfortunately very wrong. There's a very valid reason several in the media (and it wasn't just Knoxville or Vols-related media) were snooping around on this in the summer. It's not as air-tight as some of you think it is when it comes to this stuff getting out, and there have been repercussions for those that even hinted at coming out with concrete info.
As far as the quoted portion above, there have been several instances in which a message board has a major influence in a coach's termination. The most (in)famous I've seen first hand is Houston Nutt at Arkansas and the "Hogville" message board. There were members of that board who requested FOIAs on Nutt's university cell phone records and personal files, based on a "rumor," and were successful. These records, particularly the emails and phone records, showed that the rumors that had been floating around were indeed true. They also organized an early version of a Go Fund Me to rent a plane with a banner that flew over the stadium, all leading to Nutt's firing.
Point is, message boards CAN have a massive effect on the behind the scenes actions of an athletic department. Public pressure is almost too much to overcome at this point.
How funny. Show me one. Just one rumor I've started? And when I see a rumor of a personal manner I will call people on it. PeriodOr you could just shut up about it! You guys keep fanning the flames and are doing nothing more than perpetuating the problem! Your keeping it alive!
What's disgusting are the members like you, on both sides, that get involved and start thumping your chest when you think you've been proven right! As if it's all about you! Hate to tell you sister, but even if nothing does come from it the damage is done! There are no winners!
So put your indignation in your back pocket and get off the high horse!
Let's see.....
Volquest has said it wasn't a big deal and nothing out of the ordinary for football practice.
Skeeter has said it wasn't a big deal and nothing out of the ordinary for football practice.
LWS has said it wasn't a big deal and nothing out of the ordinary for football practice.
Butch Jones said that it was ridiculous.
Meanwhile, Seth Stokes and Jayson Swain are backpedaling.

Nice summary, like I said last night, there's nothing more to see here.
Every time you respond or post your personal indignation your pushing the story! Your just as guilty of keeping it alive as all those ugly, mean fans you rail against on a daily bases! How funny. And who gives a rats ass if you call someone out? Your nothing more than anonymous blowhard posting on an Internet forum just like the rest of us! Exactly what are the consequences for a member that you call out? Your outing them? Who the freak cares, they are anonymous! Building your e cred as the righteous police?
I'm an attorney. "Evidence" is a broad term, covering just about any medium or means of establishing any particular fact. In the legal context there are different types of evidence. Evidence can be "discoverable", ie, you must reveal it if asked about it in an interrogatory or deposition. But just because it is discoverable doesn't mean it is "admissible," which is when a judge accepts it. Both kinds of evidence serve a useful purpose. Discoverable evidence can focus your investigation of a matter. Admissible evidence is what proves your claim or defense.
There's lots of discoverable evidence floating around right now. No admissible evidence that I've seen yet. Testimony by Mack, Butch, or direct eyewitnesses would be admissible. So would the video, if it exists. Testimony of SteelerVol would not be admissible, at least as to the actual events of the alleged Butch Punch. They might conceivably be admissible for another purpose though.
I'm a poster on here just like everyone else. And talk about righteous indignation wow!!! Read your posts there fella.Every time you respond or post your personal indignation your pushing the story! Yes it is. Say nothing to those perpetuating the rumor but jump on those calling BS. There's some logic for you.

There are over 4000 posts and I make up a very, very small part. If you want to show strength ther scooter why not give the same high horse treatment to the OP who started this?
