Couple of crazy rumors floating around...

Ah shut up Nancy! You're the absurd one thinking that a rumor that has yet to be validated should be on the ESPN ticker. It hurts the program but idiots with a PC baby wipes mentality win again and butt bump the team they supposedly love.

If this works out like the negavols want it to we will be set back another three years. Welcome to the black hole. I think they like it that way.

It wouldn't be a tape... It would be on a (probably redundant) hard drive recorder. It could be erased, but likely not by Butch. If an incident took place that video was secured almost immediately.

This. Odds of intentional destruction of evidence are low. There is a fairly solid body of law on spoliation of evidence, which allows among other things negative inferences as far as what the evidence would have shown, and other sanctions including attorney fees. IMO, that video is extremely secure.

Why doesn't Crowder simply come out and say this is all BS. End of story. The fact he hasn't said anything indicates to me there is something here.
Maybe he is afraid of being vilified....or it could be battered center syndrome

If its reported like this it's probably not completely lame....we can hope it is however. No matter what this isn't good.

Buckle your chin straps, and adjust your cups...

Well in today's world I often hear statements such as "don't put your hands on me" or "he put his hands on me" or "you better check yourself before you go putting your hands on me". I'm speaking off the cuff here but these type statements seem to have a lot to do with "respect" issues.

I have been told many times that you can't speak to athletes or treat them now the way you could 15-20 years ago. Whether I agree or disagree with how things should be is not the issue. How many people have you heard say that "you aint going to put your hands on me". I think even Swain said something similar to this today on his show - but I may have taken it out of context so I dont want to misinterpret something.

And there seem to be some allegations of unfair treatment or favoritism against Jones. Not saying they are true and yes nothing is ever completely fair. But perhaps the behavior is disproportionate or perceived to be by some players. I know that Kendrick has been a whipping boy for Jones in the past and was in his doghouse and may still be.

Just seems to be a lot of smoke and it is not from Dead End BBQ..,

Again just some thoughts....

Until there are multiple sources confirming more than just an incident or altercation. There is noting to see here. Right now all we have is that maybe there was an incident or altercation, that no one wants to talk about.

The most important part here is that while there may have been an incident or altercation on the practice field that in NO WAY CONSTITUTES THAT BUTCH JONES ABUSED A PLAYER.

There is a difference between disclipling a player and abuse.

Word is that it's on video though somewhere.

Finebaum just directly addressed a caller from Georgia regarding this supposed incident, Finebaum's response: "We don't speculate about rumors on this program."

Same is true in the military now - thank goodness. You used to get your *** beat in basic training.

My point was and is that Stokes was speculating about player abuse. He can't even confirm if the was an incident or altercation much less that there was an abusive incident.

I thought stokes said he had verified from a good source. I might be mistaken, you should check it out

Seth Stokes asked him directly at his press conference on Monday about allegations regarding player abuse. Butch responded that it was absolutely ridiculous.

No he didn't. Listen! He said "I have it on good authority there was a physical altercation between you and a player. Do you have a comment?"

You're as bad as anyone "spreading internet rumors". You've repeatedly twisted what the media has said. I re-listened and looked at the transcript, no mention of abuse.

Getting closer to libel now. A good attorney is about to get a nice payday.

Unless it's true... then UT is getting closer to a new coach.

Can't believe it's true.

They can't sue Stokes because Stokes's only defense would be to out the source, which is counterproductive for Butch and UT. No libel suit will be filed.

The administration knows what's on the practice video, or else they are incompetent.

The kid and his dad are not commenting because something obviously happened (I'm speculating) but it was smoothed over and is old news. They don't want to be dishonest, but they're not worried about this either and don't want to make trouble.

It's a non-event from the perspective of the participants, but the journalists find it useful to stir the pot.

That's my take.

He did but I just saw one of the original tweets https://mobile.twitter.com/chrisfoster44/status/651526291338993664/photo/1

Now Im a little confused because all day on the show they said they only heard word of an altercation and that no one said anything about a punch. I think thats how it went down someone please correct me if im wrong. Just trying to be objective

Wonder what it took on the school's part to make all this go away?

Link?

I was listening to it live during the Dave Hooker show, and I could NOT believe what I was hearing or how unprofessional it was to ask the HC that question without any evidence. It was pure speculation by Stokes.
